Brian McClain Park, my home course, is a dedicated DG course with no other amenities. Still, it gets a lot of foot traffic from non DGers. Between 3:00 and 4:30 every week day, young adults from the nearby high school take the park as a shortcut to get home. The park also gets a lot of traffic late in the day from people walking their dogs.
Where do they walk? Down the fairways, mostly from the direction of the basket toward the teepad, if they're lucky. I worry about the ones cutting through the woods that just suddenly appear out of nowhere.
It's happened a few times when myself or someone in my group throws their drive, only to look up and a group of kids appears out of trees walking across the fairway.
I learned a big life lesson when I first started playing DG. When I hear someone yell "Fore!" or "Heads up!" from behind me, I don't turn around to look but duck and cover my head with my arms. LOL
This reminds me. It's 3:30 and it's time to head out to the course for a round.
