Spin off of the 'Weirdest place you've lost a disc?' thread.

Just this morning I was driving through the parking lot of a Lowe's on my way to Famous Dave's and I saw something flat and round on the asphalt. Of course the first thing I thought was "That looks like a disc." But kept on driving.

A few minutes later, after I was done with what I had to do, I drove back by. This time I opened my door to get a better look. Yep it was a disc.

Champ Banshee. Dirty as hell and a little scuffed but still looks air-worthy. No name or number on it. Score.

Funny thing is that the nearest course is 2-3 miles away.

Several months ago I was playing a round with a few friends. I threw my star destroyer on hole 2 and landed in the left side of the fairway. Once I got to hole 8 I noticed my destroyer was missing. I started to backtrack and there were 3-4 groups playing behind us. I asked all of them if they had seen it and no one said they had. As I got back to hole 2 I was sure someone had picked it up and pocketed it, but it was sitting right where I left it. The disc was out in the open and could easily be seen from the fairway of hole 2 and 17 and the teepad of hole 18. There must have been at least 5-6 groups that walked past it but it was still there. Not nearly as strange as that banshee, but I couldn't believe the disc was still exactly where I left it.

I would suspect a gnome or sprite or some other woodland creature was playing a joke on you.

Another weird one.

I was over at my brother's house on Father's Day this year when my kid comes up and hands me a disc. "Dad, check this out." I asked him where he found it. He told me it was in my nephew's closet...yet my nephew nor my brother play DG.

So I ask my brother. He says "Oh that must have been Matt's." 'Matt' being my brother's ex-brother-in-law. I had no idea that the guy played DG.

He was in a pretty serious car accident about 10 years ago and my brother was the one who had to claim all of his personal belongings from the wrecking yard. I guess he had a couple of discs in the back of his truck and my brother just grabbed everything and stored it.

It was one of these

. Never heard of it before.

Anybody seen a champ banshee? I was practicing in the parking lot of a Lowe's and I think I may have left it out there

I found a disc in a park trash can sort of near the edge of a fairway... it was a guy's a few groups ahead of me. He had looked for a while and was bummed out because he couldn't find it....it had landed IN the trash can. I was tossing a beer can left on the ground by one of the less considerate patrons of the park, and there it was. Got it back to the guy, he had a good laugh about it.

I can't claim it as a disc I found, but I was still an involved party, so I guess that counts.

One day at our course, a guy that was a recent transplant to the area from Louisville played with us. Dude had a pretty good arm, and on one of our holes where you can lose stuff if you go too big, he threw a purple teerex right at twilight. We searched around for a while, but unsurprisingly, didn't find anything.

About a week later, another one of my friends told me about how he found a disc while walking his dog. Not an incredibly odd thing to happen, except that he was walking his dog nowhere near the course, but down at a dog friendly beach. He said that the tide was really low, and way out there, he saw what looked like a golf disc. Thinking he must be seeing things, he walked out there, picked it up, and sure enough, it was a purple teerex with a Louisville stamp on it.

I told him I knew whose it was, he gave the disc to me, and of course, it doesn't have a phone number, just dude's pdga #. It's still riding around in my trunk for if I ever see him again.

friend of mine used to work at the NC State bookstore and said that one day while throwing out trash he saw an old bar stamped rhyno laying in the back of the cardboard bin. When he asked about it an older employee said that it had been around the bookstore for like 5 years and he could have it because it was the worst Frisbee to play catch with.

Now I have it, it is one of those sweet soft dx rhynos.

Oddly enough, its at the same place that is the weirdest place I've lost a disc...

... at your mom's

Found a bag of cheap discs just sitting on a tee pad with no one around. What's weird is we were playing night golf, and it was about midnight at the time. We decided to play a few more holes and come back to see if it was still there, I don't think we saw anyone else the whole time.

sounds like the work of a significant other who was tired of stacks of unused plastic taking up space in the garage...

found an orange, un-inked champ orc sitting on a tee-pad at my local course.

ask the group ahead of us, "one of you guys drop an orc?"
one of them responds "yep" and keeps walking.
I toss it after him- he picks it up, throws it back to me and says, "it's not mine. your lucky day I guess"

nobody else I ran into that day claimed it.

rather odd.

my brother-in-law and I were shooting a blind hole (#13 at Evergreen in Santa Barbara, CA) and he had what looked like a pretty sweet shot, if a bit short. We looked around for twenty minutes, then gave up.

I finished out the hole, and as I was lining up my putt we realized his disc was sitting in the basket for his first ace.

He was so relieved to get it back that the ace celebration was a little anti-climatic.

I had a friend who inherited a porn collection that way. Woke up in the morning, opened the door, and bam, bag o' porn sitting on his doorstep.

Weirdest place I've found a disc belonging to someone else? I found a Hammer at work. It was in a park, but the closest course was just over an hour away. No ink...actually tons of ink, no name or number. Just a random Hammer sitting on the ground in a park in the middle of nowhere for no reason. Somebody probably bought it at a garage sale for $.05 and thought it was a Frisbee.

Weirdest place I've found my own disc? In the basket! :p

They may have been practicing and forgot it. I left my Champ Roadrunner next to a tree for 3 days after leaving it on the practice field by mistake. I was lucky in that nobody ever uses this vacant lot except me. I think the property is owned by the town because they mow it. I am so glad they never mowed those 3 days.
