Whats in your bag 2007

So here's my bag, but I have a driver quandry. I need a good driver for power hyzers in the 300-340 range, I feel that when I throw my Z avenger on a 30 degree or so high line. That it flips a little bit, just enough to affect trajectory, So I want a more stable driver. But not so much that the angle of hyzer steepens at all.
Any suggestions, (I like to play discraft, but I'm open to suggestions) Pred maybe, Pulse, Crush??

175 Z Avenger, long straight shots with plenty of fade.
175 X Avenger, 75% of drives, long, straight, very all-purpose.
175 Z XL, thrown slightly hyzer, then lazer straight for 330 feet.
175 D XL, used for all my big turnovers and rollers.
170 X Extreme, 240 to 270 foot hyzers.
175 Z Extreme, spike hyzers, skip approaches, trick shots.

175 ESP Buzz, long approaches, outside 210, hyzer straight or anhyzer.
175 Soft X Challenger, putter drives up to 220

175 Soft X APX, putting.

I second the Z Pred vote.
I throw mine on more of a low, line drive hyzer angle and they hold the hyzer til they hit the ground.

~160 D Cyclone

171 Z Buzzz
175 ESP Buzzz
175 S Demon

175 SSS Wizard

I'm using the cyclone for turnovers until I beat one of my tbirds in for a turnover shot. I'm thinking of picking up some rocs to see how I like them. I like my buzz a lot, but I'd really like to have a mid that I can use for somewhat overstable shots, straight shots, and turnovers. Both of my buzzes flex out of annies, which is useful sometimes, but I'd like to have a mid that will die right when I need it to.

Okay, this is my first "what's in your bag" post, not sure exactly what I'm doing, but I'll try to explain when I use each disc and any observations, so here goes...

Drivers:
172 Star Sidewinder -> Backhand drives, but frustrated cuz it always goes left
172 Star Wraith -> Haven't had one of these in a couple months, just got it last night, we'll see what happens...
172 Tie Dye Champion Beast -> Also a new disc, but my Star Beast was awesome for sidearm drives (Big S curve)
??? Epic -> still workin' on it, I can get one good barrel roll, then it just drops to the ground, so it's good for getting over bushes and stuff I can't go around, prolly use it more as a mid than a driver

Mid-Ranges:
176 Tie Dye Elite Z Buzzz -> backhand approach shots - flies straight, and fairly far then fades slightly left
173 DX Roc -> been throwing it about 3 weeks (~25 rounds total), sidearm approach shots, flys straight (not as far as Buzz), then DIVES left
172 Full Color Peace Sign DX Roc -> Don't throw very often almost new, just use for very short sidearm approach shots
147 DX Roc -> Everyone tells me I should throw light discs, so I got one and I hate it, it gets all flippy and goes nowhere :x
175 1st Run Star Cro -> love/hate relationship w/ this disc - sometimes I can get an awesome hook shot or straight side arm drive, but I usually just end up waaay overshooting the basket on approach shots w/ it

Putters:
172 Soft Banger-GT -> My fave putter, use it 99.9% of the time inside 40 feet, outside that I use a Roc
172 Pro D Banger GT -> short approach shots, putting practice

Yeah, so that's my bag at the moment, I've been playing for almost 5 months, and I'm still pretty green, but steadily improving (finally got my 1st birdie last weekend :) ) I would love any input/criticism anyone would like to offer :D

Lisa

Try only use a DX Roc/Buzzz and your putter for about 1-2 months. You'll improve your game a lot

Lisa,

Drop the wraith. learn on your mids and fairway driver(leopards and roadrunners are what my mom use) Keep your drivers in the mid to low 160's and mids in upper mid 160's to lower 170's. Play a bunch with your buzz is great advice.

After having to replace my entire bag, here is what I have:

Champ FX
Champ Orc
Star EX
Champ TB
Champ Leopard

DX Roc x2
Z Buzzzzzz

Wizard x3

All in a Carolina bag which is way too big for me.

174 Zeroline Spike

WOW, I was throwing a Roc & putter round, and I found some situations that I'd never tried the Roc, and even some drives where my Roc worked awesome, even better than the drivers I'd been using on those shots. I will be doing allot more work with my Rocs and Buzz :D Thanks guys, your advice is always awesome!!!

I love putter rounds! Playing those rounds is what cemented the soft Mag, Challenger and Buzzz in my bag. I really don't need any other discs, the drivers are all for distance and trying to find lines that imitate needle threading. But I'd never be without 1 Buzzz, 1 Challenger (both dark blue CryZtal), and my go-to Yellow, Blue Gill Disc Golf stamp Soft Magnet. Good discovery, way to go! Huk it far. J

As of today on my home course on a nice day I carry...

First Run Star TeeRex - Distance Driver
Star TeeRex - Distance Driver when I could loose the First Run
Champion Starfire - Main driver
Champion Roadrunner - Tight Anny shots and Rollers
Champion Firebird - Spike Hyzer Shots and Sidearms

180g DX Roc fairly new
170g DX Roc fairly beaten
180g DX Roc extremely beaten
180g KC Pro Roc fairly beaten
180g Champion Roc

(Generally if I'm by myself doing a practice round I will throw my regular shot and a roc drive on each hole)

170g White Soft Wizard (normally a tleast 1) - Approaches and putts outside of 40
2 174g Black Soft Wizards - Putting only

The last tourney of the season was this past weekend. So...there is not a single disc in my bag as of right now. But...on that note, I am sure the bag will get filled back up later this week with a bunch of new stuff to try out. I think I am going to try and replace my Pro Starfires with X-Avengers over the winter. I like the glide that the X-Avenger gets compared to the Pro Starfires.

its been a while.....

everything i throw is at or around max weight:

2 flat top E spirits (one extremely overstable, the other just a little less) - various forehand shots, big S forehands, forehand rollers, grenades, getting out of trouble (i could probably take one of these out and most likely will pretty soon).
1 flat top ice spirit (somewhat beat, still very overstable) - my "go to" disc for nearly everything. thumbers, tommys, accurate hyzer forehands, strong backhand hyzers, skips, into the wind hyzers.
1 nike spirit - nearly new, trying to beat it up in case i lose my other one.
1 nike spirit (very beat) - flies basically straight. most accurate driver ever. mostly for long hyzers or if i need dead accuracy backhand, also use it for long forehands.
1 2nd run baby blue E illusion - somewhat overstable. i am working this in a little to fly just a little more overstable than my 1st runs. right now i use it in headwinds for distance because its a little more overstable than my beat nike.
2 1st run baby blue E illusions - one slightly more overstable than the other, but both flip up a little for long drives. very easy to control.
1 beat proto diablo dt - big hyzer flips, long anhyzers, this will most likely hit the old discs pile when one of my baby blues gets beat enough.
2 nike sabres (a little overstable, and a little understable) - just normal controlled fairway drives. nice for long tight gaps.
1 champ whippet X - overstable mid to fairway shots, short hyzers, some forehands and thumbers, some hyzer approaches and skips.
2 E element Xs (one is dead straight "stable", the other is slightly understable) - I'm using less and less of my sabres with these in my bag. they fly really far for a midrange. my "stable" element X is another go to disc. very hard to screw up throwing that disc.
5 med wizards - mostly for putting practice. 4 are nearly identicle, just a little overstable for putting/approaches, and 1 is beat. i use it for long putts, touch approaches, anny approaches.

7 molds? might be a little much...

over the winter i'll be trying out a lot of other discs to see if theres something from innova or discraft that i like better than any of this. i haven't thrown much of anything but gateway since i've improved a lot in the last year to year and a half. at first it was just to test them, but i fell in love with some of the discs. right now i'm pretty happy with what i have. playing better than ever. we'll see what happens.
