[MVP] MVP Tesla

Just one of those discs, like the proto/BB Roc3s that are a guaranteed seller at any price.

I was quite surprised to see them that low at DGC. It's really a crazy bargain, for a crazy cool disc.

if anyone has any trouble finding some LE tesla's here is the address of my local retailers online store he has a few of them.

www.therealdiscndat.com
he also has some of the melon craves if those are running low too

Theres a guy on discgolfscene selling le teslas for $50. It's happening already (far too soon IMO).

Left the LE for someone else, I just don't really like the black flight plate. In person it just wasn't as sexy in person as I had hoped. But I did pick up a Skullboy, but I haven't thrown it yet (not sure if I want to or if I should hang on for resale down the road)

Great FH, BH and not as overstable as I expected hearing some of the initial reviews for sure stable and think its going to be a bomber once a little seasoned up. I see a few sites have it rated at a speed 11 and others a 10 and either a 0 or -1 HSS .. I think 11 is a litttttle fast but understand that and its for sure not a 0 HSS disc. Feels great in the hand and even looks better flying in the air :D

I was also expecting a touch more OS than mine has its a 175g but it still held a nice straight line for quite awhile b4 coming back pretty hard. but like a typical MVP disc it wasn't a violent knife edge come back.

First thoughts,

I'm a medium power medium spin guy who is trying to work on the power and the hit still.

The tesla I got is 157 so that I can get it up to speed my volts at 174 are as beefy as I can go if I want it to do what it needs.

I threw this today in the wind, with the wind, across the wind but it was a slight 10-15 at max. Manageable.

For my power I picked the right weight for sure. Even into a headwind it turns, gets up to speed and still has a good LSS to fade forward.

When thrown flat windless it turns almost right away and then settles itself into a straight flight and starts to fade about the 270-280 foot mark and ends at 295-315.

In a tail wind it still goes straight for a long time and fades harder but not as hard as the shock does. At this weight it has great glide for me and my arm speed/snap.

With hyzer it flips and rides in an amazing straight line with the nicest fade, like my 174 crave does.

The anhyzer line is held nicely before it rights the flight and does this nice TOP GUN left fade.

I have a 170 g inertia and it is very flippy so I went a little lighter knowing this guy out of the box would want to be stable and I think the 174 volts I have could be up to speed a bit more.

For a noodle arm it did amazingly well. I am hooked, this is my new go to driver.

Max drive 350 with tailwind. Avg, 300 all conditions.

So how many people are ditching the Volt for this? I just put my trusty Volt onto a very tall roof with no access (stupid power pole got in the way of a sick drive, LOL) and I'm wondering if I even need another Volt at this point?

Oh Hiro, you silly little master of time and space.

I am digging the crave, volt, tesla combo. you get different feels but similar flights and just added stability given the power/distance/line needed. It takes away from needing a OS or beat version of X disc and makes for a complete "set" of discs.

Its what I really like about what axiom and mvp models can do in one bag and even some MVP ones alone as well like shock/amp/volt and from the roots of the Ion vs Anode (seasoned ION) its really how they have always rolled. I have never thrown any of their discs I don't like for that reason as they all fit in somewhere or another and more often than not you will find a core which is similar giving the same feel. Really boils down to your style but imo no way volts will get worked out of the bag as they are a TRUE workhorse in all conditons where the slower ones excel on calmer days/shorter lines and the DDs are for more windy/longer lines. The volt is just so workable at many distances where the 1.7cm class starts getting pushed at 330'+ as are as the intended flight paths go which is why the shock/volt/amp wont be going anywhere soon.

Hmm...I like your response. Looks like Tesla could find a way in the bag betwixt my Giants and Terns. I only get my Distance Drivers an average of 40-50 feet farther than my control trio (Firebird/OLF/Volt) so the Tesla might be a little shy of that. Guess Ill just try it and see!

I may have to give the tesla/inertia an audition in place of my pd trio. Truthfully, with my teebirds going as far as they do, I don't see many times where I prefer the PD until the wind kicks up. We'll see.

For me if I have lots of wind, or need a reliable shot between 250-300 I will throw the volts, they must stay. The tesla will be my special open hole driver where I can use the glide and try to get extra distance. Once I learn this disc I think it will be just as reliable as the mighty volt!

Crave, volt, tesla for the win indeed. My new favorite trio.

The alias, is working its way into the mid spot knocking out perhaps the tangent and axis.... Sadly enough. I love my axis....

Two brand spanking new Teslas

I got in the mail today two brand spanking new Special Edition Teslas. One is a 159g and the other is a 175g. One is going on my wall and one is going to be thrown. I can throw a 166g Inertia ~300 feet flat footed for max D.
How much different will the 159 and 175 fly? Which one should I bag and which one should I hang?

Field throw both then clean the rim with a magic eraser.

Don't want to chime in too much yet. Doing a little Tesla vs PD thing while playing over the weekend. 169 and 175 Tesla vs 175 seasoned S and freshish CPD.

Initial impressions say Tesla is somewhere between the two. Definitely has the same thing going on as the Volt, just faster/ longer.

Having never thrown a PD, I have no base line to compare it to. I do have an 175g Eclipse Volt that flies like it is on rails and actually has less fade than my Inertia(it just doesn't fly as far). If the Tesla flies as straight as my Volt, I will be very pleased.

The heavy Tesla will be more overstable than your Volt, especially if you're throwing your Inertia around 300 feet. You can test both Teslas, but I bet you'll want to bag the lighter one.
