That's a shame... being "anonymous" and participating in the SS to get free stuff sent to you without participating in return should get you a "red" A on your profile then....so at least there is warning before "doing business" with the person
what if we were to set up a facebook page for SS and ask that anyone participating agree to let their names and addy's be posted on that page if they pull a db move and not send?
then dgcr has nothing to do with the posting of those names

maybe instead of pairing up people in the order they send the email, the organizer should pair people up based on reputation if there are any noobs (which there will be). the noob has to send their package first, and their SS will receiver an email stating their their SS is a noob and to wait to send it til they get theirs. would require some extra work but would probably take care of most of these issues.

Google+ ??? anybody have an account? They could invite participants to join Google+ and we could set it up there... I haven't used it yet, but I have heard good things.

as one of the people who did not receive and a person who just "lurks" around on the site AND i participated in both SS i would not be able to participate b/c i dont have a high enough post count? i think the easiest way to solve this issue is to make it a not so secret santa and post the names publicly as soon as they are matched up and anyone who wants in must understand and agree to these terms.
i really enjoy doing these and want to do it again, i guess i just gotta wait to see if i will be eligible.

I think the SS is for active participants of the site as a community (posters, traders, etc) more than just any random person off the net that could sign up and get some free swag.

I participated in the first SS and have been collecting stuff all year for the next one. Is this all for naught based on my post count and non-trader status?
No one has really said what the pre-requisites will be, if any. I would think successfully participating in previous SS's would exempt you from any other pre-requisites, if they do in fact eventually exist.
Perhaps for those with no posts/feedback there could be a paypal deposit (say $25?) into the persons paypal account who runs it. Would be returned upon proper completion of SS. Just throwing ideas out there.

keep in mind that a facebook addition to SS would not require everyone involved to join facebook.
the SS would still be ran through DGCR but everyone would have to agree that if they pulled a fast one their name and addy would be posted on a facebook page. if anyone wanted to view that information all they had to do was go on to that facebook page and view it, if you don't want to go view that information don't. simple as that.
