USDGC on Discgolfplanet.tv

Since switching to iPhone and Mac Air, my virus issues have abated, but I have been missing out on all the DGL coverage due to no mobile compatible stream. Already completely missed Worlds. :-(. Is there really no way to view on an iPhone?

My work internet is horrible and won't stream it....the most choppy viewing ever...might have to work from home tmrw and friday :)

Paige Pierce is doing hole by hole updates for Devan, Cale, MJ & Brinsters card on her facebook fan/athlete page.

Doesn't look like she kept up with it. However, she did report Devan got an Ace on 7

That roller was a foot fault. Wish I had audio to know the guys name.

I got skyfire to work. Thanks!

However, watching the pros retee 5+ times on 11 fills me with too much rage to continue watching. If this is the future of disc golf, then count me out.

Would be nice to have a course map or a copy of tee signs so we could actually see the layouts they are playing.

Why? Isn't it good that the course is challenging? Feldberg and Orum both finished with -10 so it can't be too difficult.

Anyone who is re-teeing 5+ times is doing it to themselves...it has nothing to do with the "future of disc golf". Most of what I've seen is if a player goes OB, they're discing down and playing a smarter safer shot on the next one. If they're tincupping, I'd argue they're not really "pro" in the first place...or just stupidly stubborn.

They said no penalty strokes for OB's. Just curious if this is new to the USDGC event or the way they have always done it. I understand the course is very challenging and that this may make the rounds less miserable for players but just wondering..

I wish they'd stay with the action the person is talking about rather than cutting back to three in the middle of his sentence.

New this year. Special rules exemption granted to them by the PDGA. The last two years it was stroke and distance, and they got a lot of flack for it. This way is a fair compromise between the staff's goal of not letting players advance on OB shots and the player's complaints of being overly punished.

TDs are emulating these kinds of layouts locally, and requiring even the rec women to retee on island holes they can't possibly reach. Yes, it's stupid, but guess what? There are stupid people out there, and even smart people can do stupid things. Plus, it introduces the potential for TDs to discourage less skilled players from playing their tournaments, and I think it is inevitable that such layout features will be used in that manner, assuming it isn't happening already.

But more than that, this kind of jacked up OB and mandatory retee introduces too much luck factor and forces a certain kind of playing style on everyone. If the course isn't difficult enough without this gimmicky nonsense, maybe it shouldn't host a major. Pros have been very vocal complaining about this kind of stuff, and I don't know why TDs don't listen.

Course is largely wide open. Obs needed to make it a viable offering. I, personally prefer landing area courses vs. trees; and find landing areas to be much easier to hit. It's simiply a matter of knowing your discs the same way pro golfers know their club distances.
Because they're so good, most television watchers don't realize that pro golfers put most shots within 10-30 ft. of where they need to, on most every hole.

*Should also probably be noted that this style course is considered necessary for good television/internet/spectator viewing; which is what makes the "open style" course what is used for this event."
