Las Vegas Gentlemen's Club Challenge

"Clanged" being short front cage?

Yes. Or at least hitting the front side of the basket. I know he missed low in the playoff. I don't remember if it was high or low on 16.

I saw that the difference between first and second was $500. Ouch. I won't get so upset with myself when I blow a $5 match with my friends from now on.

On a related note, Nikko's drives were not quite as accurate as Will's and Dave's, but his putts are something to behold. I saw him sink three 40'+ putts in very windy conditions.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I really just don't get the whole "rooting for a team" in disc golf. There are no "teams" in disc golf; it's an individual sport. The handful of guys who are going to win this year's tournaments are the same handful of guys that won last year's.

That being said, to see Feldberg change up his whole bag and come out with a major win right out of the gate is impressive and a testament to his talent and dedication to the game.

There are teams in some events. And there's nothing wrong with rooting for "Team Discraft," if you like the brand.

Sorry, I meant in "regular" events - singles stroke play. I know there are teams in things like doubles tournaments, match play, etc.

Bah, missed my edit window.

As for the second part, I never said there was anything "wrong" with it; like whoever you want for whatever reason you want, that's your right. I just think "Team Insert-Manufacture-Here" is a meaningless term. Latitude might give him a bunch of discs, but Dave Feldberg still has to throw them. But again, maybe I'm missing something?

I mean, I really don't get statements like, "Team Whatever is going to kick ass this year!" Well of course they are, they're the same people that kicked ass last year.

I'm not sure an 1100+ round has been thrown using any set of discs other than Innova or Discraft. Memorial here we come.

I got to play with some good players this weekend, and despite not knowing how to hit a 20' putt I did pretty decent too. Once I learn to putt I'll be whooping (playing similar to) those guys with my MVP plastic. Watch out.

But a 1085 has! Give the DD/Latitude/Westide guys the year and maybe there will be one.

It's pretty awesome DF won this event. He uploaded that In the Bag video not even 2 weeks ago. So he either figured out what he was going to throw really fast since then, or he was still semi-wingin it. I guess when you're Dave Feldberg.. it's easier to wing it.. but still, its pretty kick ass. His ITB video just reminds me I wanna get a GL Pain though.

I'm so sick of all the Dave bashing. How can someone on the internet be so vile toward someone so beneficial to our sport? Naturally, I was stoked to see Dave win the playoff and get first. Keep it up man!

Having followed these guys for two days, I respect Dave's skills. He is very consistent and has some great form.

That said, he was by far the oldest person on the card, and his maturity did not show at all. Twice he got into debates with the rest of the card about OB issues. A lot of people in the crowd were looking at the ground in embarrassment. It felt like when you're in a room where a couple is bickering, except Dave was part of it every time.

So no, he's not always a great ambassador for the sport. Will and Cale are fare more mature, and they're at least 10 years younger.

these uber rated rounds in these A-tier top pro heavy fields mean nothing to me

a field thats heavy on 1000+ guys is logically gonna produce an amazingly hot rating.....if 20 975 guys throw those numbers its not as inflated

I'm not minimizing the amazing dg these guys play but the ratings are not science they are a tool but far from a perfect tool...they are overall useful though and have their merits

I just dont buy into a 1085 round as being hotter than the 1030 round a local pro throws here against less accomplished competition

I think Catrinia and Paige finishing 1 & 2 with 3rd being 12 behind is WOW. They totally kicked ass this weekend.

That's a pretty bold statement. Not saying you can't, just saying that's pretty bold. Were all the "mistakes" you made in the putting or were there some drive/approaches that gave you hell too?
