[Westside] Tell me about your Underworld...

Loving my pearly tournament Underworld. I throw it on a steep hyzer it flips flat and turns some before a very slight hyzer out at the end. I throw it flat it holds a perfect anny line all the way to the end with maybe a slight stall fade. No issues on height or release. I'm preferring it to the River at the moment. If I lose my River I could see just getting another VIP Underworld that is maybe a little less understable.

Glad to read these positive comments - I plan on getting one of these in the near future, and it definitly sounds like my kind of disc.

I think I should have got this one first, rather than the Stag. But I LOVE my Patriot, and not sure if I want something that's more understable than that. Should be fun to mess around with, though...

For those who have thrown it, do you think this would make a good begginer driver? Also, my dad throws a lot of understable stuff because, due to various injuries (hes 57), he releases everything on hyzer. Hes not a big arm by any means, but hes no slouch either. His current lineup is: Tachyon for big hyzers, Archangel, Condor, Roadrunner, Sideweinder, Z Buzzz, Flying Squirrel, Zephyr, Superhero and Sonic. Do any of you think the Underworld has a slot there? Thanks for the help...

MY UNDERWORLD is like my ROADRUNNER, its replacing it cause for me it does the same but glides a lot more and of course it just looks so good in the air.

My TP underworld is amazing, the.glide is crazy, and when you can get it to catch the wind favorably, it's beautiful.

But I don't know about the VIP underworld, cause my TP is nowhere near as good a roller as a roadrunner.

Yeah, once I dial it in, I am thinking this thing could replace the Roadrunner for me, too. I am trying to keep to speed 7 and under, so this would help.

Is anyone throwing a TP and VIP? I am really curious how they compare...

Here are my three. Two super pearly and a regular tourney plastic

I agree with the guys above, I find it very similar to my roadrunner and am replacing it because it glides more with less effort, has a sick stamp, and plastic looks/feels great. You might replace your dad's RR with it just because of the extra glide helping out his non big arm

I know there was a slight comparrison to the River earlier in this thread, and the conclusion is that it's less stable than the River.

My question is - is it different enough from the River where if you're a River thrower you'd have this in the bag too? I have more Rivers than I'd like to admit, so I'm not looking to replace them. I keep hearing about the glide on the Underworld. The River has some pretty spectacular glide to it too, is the Underworld moreso?

Thanks in advance!

yeah same here love my rivers. hopefully the underworld will be able to complement the rivers without too much overlap. I'm trying to work the Stag- Saint- River- Underworld for my drivers .

In my experience, most Rivers are straight-stable fliers that beat into turnover discs. Underworlds are like the beat in turnover disc. They can complement each other, but if you already have a beat in River, you probably won't need the Underworld.

I'm unsure whether I'll back both when the season kicks back in. As it is now, in the cold and snow, I'm throwing the Underworld because, in these conditions, I don't have the same power I usually do.

Honestly, it's going to depend on what you use your Rivers for. My 170g TP Underworld is basically a slightly beat in Test Material River out of the box. The problem with the TM Rivers is that once you hit that sweet spot, it is quickly gone. So hopefully these discs can keep that buttery understable path longer. My Underworld will not come back. I had to concentrate on turning my River over to make that happen.

If you look at my sig, I have my Underworld in my "bench players," which means it sits in my bag but I only use it for very specific shots. Unlike my River, which I can use on any number of shots and make it work. But it does make those specific shots far easier than trying to do it with my River or Diamond.

I just got me some! Can't wait for snow to melt, etc.

Can anyone explain, briefly, their technique for throwing those turnover shots with the Underworld. It took me awhile to get my GL River to do it, and I'm still figuring out my Patriot. Right now, I iae the Patriot mostly for hyzer-flip laser beams. I feel like I'm missing a big aspect of my game without a good turnover, so if the Underworld makes it very "user-friedly" I can see it sticking in the bag.

Foe the record, my problem with turnovers ia getting that nice, sweet drift instead of turning into a stupid dirt dart.

I like to start with a hyzer angle to give the disc some time to turn over. A hyzer release is also easier for me to get the disc higher in the air nose down. If you want it to flex out, throw it higher and take a little off it. If you want it to finish right for RHBH, throw it flatter and harder with a little less height. Just put it in the air high enough and it will turn and flex out. If you're having trouble, you might want to work on throwing clean hyzers with an understable disc, then increasing your power until they flatten and increasing again when your comfortable until they turn over. I'm not sure there's a magic bullet, but this disc is definitely capable of what you're looking for.

Some people might say they can't throw a disc this understable and have it finish left. But I've seen somebody throw a hyzer with a Polecat out to about 250', and that same guy threw an absolutely beat to death Wolf (I think it was like 5 years old) on a beautiful turnover out to about 265'--the disc started on a steep hyzer and turned all the way over and landed flat on the ground. The throw had maybe about 60 or 70 degrees of turn on it and was really neat to watch. It's all about having that buttery smooth form and control and you can work any disc, no matter how understable. Easier said than done of course!
