Awesome News!!! FADE Gear (F.reaking A.wesome D.isc E.quipment) decided this Wednesday: "You know what? That Eric, he seems like a cool guy. 150-ish people all coming together to hang out, have fun and throw aces? That's pretty awesome, too. It gets better!! After we play, we'll randomly draw a hole number. Whoever got the best score on that hole gets to choose 1 disc from **30** brand new premium plastic Discraft discs. A 1 disc shopping spree, if you will. If there's a tie, we all get to watch a "closest to the pin showdown!!" Those are a blast to watch!!

Wait, there's more!! After 15 of those bonus discs, we'll randomly call out non-winner's names to give all these shiny Z and ESP discs away. So basically, everyone has a chance at winning something!!

Last year the announced the disc on the 26th of July. Looks like we only have a few more weeks till we hear what the discs will be. 211 events registered so far. I am looking forward to another great Discraft Ace Race.

Which really sucked because we purposely want to be the first Ace Race in Minnesota by holding it the first available Saturday, but with that such late announcement, we had to have the course set up a week prior (so we could print a course map) and had it set up for either a putter or a mid. We still had a ton of fun, but the course would have favored a slower disc.

If they would have announced it a week prior, we would have been fine.

I'm pretty pleased that the DG community here got together and have now announced the first Discraft Ace Race in South Korea! Unfortunately, it's way down south in Daegu so I will be unable to attend, but it's super cool to see the global impact of DG. I'm hoping the Vibram Birdie bash or the Legacy Ace Races go international this year so we can get them too.

I'm in a holding pattern if we are going to host one. We recently opened a new course but the course 15 miles away held it last year. They may not run one this year. If they don't I think we are. Pretty excited about hosting one if we do

whats wrong with the players pack? and they have stepped it up. you get more these days then you used too. $25 and all that stuff....what do you want?

i would like to know what the disc is tho. i disagree with the announcing so late, hard on the TDs of the early events to generate hype for their event.

The bags they had in 2011 were awesome but the water bottles and shades they had last year were pretty lame. Bag, discs, mini, rule book and acrylic clipboard would be a great pack.

I just think with all the attention given to Prodigy and Innova this year...Discraft could profit from some positive attention.

I'm a fan of the Ace Race tournaments and I'm hosting my 2nd one next weekend.

Don't be so quick to judge someone. I'm hosting an event next weekend to help promote the sport and a new course we just put in. I was making more of a statement about Discraft's opportunity to take some of attention away from Prodigy and Innova.

does discraft need to take attention away? at local tournaments i still see the discraft and innova discs ravaged before prodigy even gets thought about.
additionally, it finally seems like Discraft has realized the collectors market is a valuable avenue and finally took advantage of it (think Innova and USDGC Rocs). Plus they listened to their custoers and started making several of their popular discs in more plastics for production not just special release. I think Discraft has done ALOT this year.

Haha...people need to quit using the word "fail" and "owned" but I hear ya. I think they tried to hype their Ti line.

It's been tough to sell the players packs this year without knowing what the disc is and based on last years players packs. I'm a big fan of Discraft but unfortunately (or fortunately) I live near Charlotte and this is Innova country. Charlotte doesn't even have an Ace Race...

Come on down to Wilmington and play the Castle. They set up a 27-hole Ace Race every year. Should be fun.
