Proper protocol for events is to NOT renumber existing holes and insert temporary lettered holes to reduce chances for hole sequence misplay by regional players who know the course. May not be ideal for spectators but it would be easier to simply program the live scoring to allow hole labels to be edited to match the course.

Did Houck design the temporary OB lines being used? I don't remember seeing those when he ran the National Doubles there in the 90s.

Glad you brought that up. I believe the placement of Gold's OB is something the club did on their own.

Nah. Since Wednesday. The rains the day after the Am event washed away all the markings. They did have the caddy book, however, but it doesn't do the markings justice.

It might have been Tuesday. But zJ says that this is the exact same NT layout used for years. (post #157). I am glad. I just wish they would publicize that and then have that layout on their website or here on dgcr, accurately!

Crazy finish to the FPO round. Cat landed just inbounds but between the line and a car. She took her stance wedged between her marker and the car, and took a bogey to finish in a tie with Paige Pierce. Playoff commences shortly.

I imagine the vehicle wasn't moved because the owner wasn't present to start it up and move it. Cat was entitled to relief in that situation, but that would have placed her behind the vehicle. Have to assume she chose to throw from where she did because it was the best option available.

Considering the ramifications of the next shot for an NT title, as a player I would expect an effort to be made to find the owner and remove the vehicle. Or, if owner can't be found in a reasonable time period get a rethrow/retee for intentionally interfering. Not sure there's a more fair option. If that was a player's car, shame on them to start with but the rules only appear to apply a courtesy violation.
