Cubby on PDGA.com

i wonder how many were the 1st throw from the tee

This guy's a true pioneer. He gets it... no joke.

You know the best thing about Cubby aces?

Throwing Cubby aces into trashcans with a lid has gotten more exposure on ESPN than the entire sport of disc golf. Can you say prototypes?

Dude has a shot named after him. Killer robot cows are going to be long gone and people are still going to be throwing Cubby aces. Cubby>Zam.

You really need to do another killer robot cow stamp, man. :|

Not many. Such a joke that the PDGA is trolling him around like they're all legit aces.

Show me a scorecard. Like this.

I thought a cubby ace was an ace from your 2nd or 3rd try from the t-pad? Isn't that kind of cheese azz? I know it still went in from the t-pad, which is something I have never done.:wall::wall:

Correct! And...therefore, by definition, not an ace!

Cubby doesn't throw 2-3 shots - sometimes he throws dozens of shots, or just keeps going on really short holes until he gets it in. There's no real skill involved, just time. Even a brand new player will eventually get a short ace given enough throws. That being said, this DOES kinda bring in some interest to the sport, but it doesn't leave a good taste behind for me and a lot of other ace purists.

Back when youtube was new and nobody really understood what it was or could be, a man and his camcorder blazed a trail for disc golf videos that has grown to become a huge part of the growth of the game in the last 8-9 years.

The man? Carl "Cubby" Cubbedge.

If all you have to say about the man is that his achievement was no achievement, maybe you are focusing on the wrong achievement.

very well said, even if i dont agree with his definition i do appreciate what he has done for the sport overall

The videos are cool...I can dig the pioneer aspect of it all. Kudos to him for that!
