I see several polls about how many disc people carry but I didn't see any that specifically asked about how many are actually used. I know lots of folks carry 20+ discs but I think many are back-ups or discs being beat-in.

I realize that it will be course specific but in general how many discs do you use in a typical round.

i wouldn't have to use quite so many if i could throw RHFH, i bet.

I carry ~20 discs, but only 10ish molds. I'll only use 5-8 unless i have to pull of my SHTF discs.

I currently carry 14 or 15, and today used all but one in my round. The one I didn't use, I contemplated for one shot.

I could have made do with only half of them, as in some cases the differences are rather slight.

Really depends on the course, the weather, and how well I'm throwing that day. Could be 3, could be 15.

depends on the course, what shots and how much trouble i get into. Saying how much is kind of hard. however i have go to discs that are used almost every round.

i would say
summit- understable putter
ridge- X2 main putter
VP- X2 i use one as a driving putter and the other as a main putter for headwind putts

midrange

obex- X2 one is light but still really overstable, the other is dead straight
ibex- only one and it is understable will hold anhyzer lines.
buzz os- massively overstable mid range. great forehand disc as well.

fairway- interesting category for me since i am in test phase with the notch arch and the valley

Ascent- X2 main fairway both are really straight minimal fade at the end
Valley- understable fairway, but will fade out. hopefully can beat in to not come back
Notch- no longer have :( lost it but was overstable fairyway
Arch- Very glidey straight disc but will flip with enough power. still testing it out.

drivers

unlace- maximum distance driver hyzer flips and rollers. great utility disc
o-lace- only have 1 but micro granite is stable. forehand disc and back hand anhyzer flex.
lace- have one that is flippy and the other is stable. really not sure what to do with these discs just yet.

I carry 22, used 15 today in the course of playing 22 holes.

I carry 14, but for the most part I usually only used (need) 6-7 of them. But it does depend on the course and the weather.

5 min monster got me...

There's overlap to be sure, but there are definitely times when, even though I know I could use either of two (possibly even 3) discs for a certain shot, something about the situation makes me feel more confident throwing one over the other(s).
That confidence is important... perception becomes reality.

I have a few discs that I prefer on certain tees, but all 14 or 15 discs I carry get some fingering love.
Im old, my back hurts, so, no fluff.

I carry 9-11 discs, and probably use 7-9 per round, course dependent.

I recently downside my bag to the discs I actually throw.

I currently bag 21, about 3 or 4 duplicates in different stages of abuse though. If my forehand game is strong I can use about 8 but if it's off them I use just about every disc. A couple of local courses have some lefty love that we rhbh throwers need to forehand or get some anny lines to have a chance.

The problem is the answer can be very round specific, even on the same course. I carry 18 discs, and I'd say at least 12 of them usually get used once per round, but probably 4-5 of them do 75+% of the work.

I think maybe some of us could do an experiment though to find a ballpark answer.

I voted 10-12 cuz that's probably my average. I probably throw almost all my putters and mids every round, as the speed goes up i use fewer and fewer discs. I generally only use 2 distance drivers per round. I have a few specialty discs that don't get used regularly (ie if I'm in the fairway all the time). I bag 16 for casual rounds and 19-21 for tournements
