Chipmunkgate 2016

"Was that a crack head?"

Why would anyone ask that? Pretty sure that's what I hear at 0:32.............

Doesn't sound anything like "crack head" to me. It is difficult to hear because of everyone talking at once, but it was a single syllable. Pretty sure he said "was that a crab."

Looked to me like the chipmunk did effect the skip. Can't be certain but I'd say about 60% chance if there was no chipmunk that it would have hit the wall.

yeah that sounded like "crack head" to me... but that can't be right, right?

The exact opposite happened on my card at a sanctioned tourney last year. The dude threw a low, fast approach at the basket and would've skipped ob for sure. Instead he straight drilled a squirrel and stopped 3 feet from the basket.

The squirrel laid completely flat on the ground until we walked over to his disc, at which point it took off to the trees!

I also had a friend attacked by a baby squirrel on the course, but that's another story...

How it felt to the chipmunk

The chipmunk just wanted Willy to be free.

Chipmunk or not, it was a bad throw. You can't start trying to find excuses for a loss. And I'm sure MJ would agree.

(It is an interesting turn of events though, and it looks like the little critter made have had a hand in some of that lift that made it go OB)

Agree completely. However after watching this, and rewatching a few times, I really believe he was going OB regardless of what animal it struck.

I think the commentator saying Bradley won only because of a chipmunk undermined his actual talent and MJ's OOB-regardless throw. But I'll chalk it up to hyperbole and sleep easier at nights.
