2017 MPO Worlds - Augusta

I knew someone would go for Bill. How can I argue with anyone that appreciates the greatest golf movie ever made?

RIGHT?

That doesnt explain hole 3
Pretty sure the tee on 3 is the same but the pin just moved down the hill from its old location to straighten out the tee shot. Might also have been tucked into the trees a bit towards the pin for hole 5 for a little more challenging green area.

Per the handy-dandy course preview, new teepad and new pin to make it more of straighter shot. I liked the old par 4 a bit because it was such a weird but stupid shot; crazy nose up angle with the disc tilted nearly 90 degrees, short throw with lots of arm speed. Had two eagle looks. Having said that, redesigning it is certainly a good idea. The new teepad that looked like it would be the most fun is hole 4; I imagine the pros probably had to disc up a bit to maintain control for the landing zone shot.

This might deserve its own thread, but does anyone have a firm listing of the media coverage on Worlds this year? Particularly for today?

Here you go:

Super cool to see Colin Carter with that -7; he almost won the NCDGC singles this year, just went off the live scoring and laid up when the live scoring was incorrect. If he can shoot hot tomorrow and get on the lead card that would be something.

Also cool to see Chris Dickerson on the lead card; I followed his card at Huk Central this past May and dude can flat out play.

???

Every MPO player is teeing in the morning. The top ten rated players in order, all in Pool A:

McBeth at 8:10
Wysocki at 9:30
Anthon at 8:30
Lizotte at 10:00
Kajiyama at 8:20
Orum at 8:00 (first tee time)
McMahon at 9:30
Doss at 9:50
Locastro at 10:50 (final tee time)
Dickerson at 10:50

B-pool's last tee time is 11:50 (starting at 8:00).

I expect the women, who have all the late tee times tomorrow, will get switched to the early tee times on Thursday, then maybe back to late times on Friday.

This was my bad, missed the pool part. I blame viewing it on my phone and booze.

What happened to Avery? When was the last time he was a contender for lead cards at Majors? Kind of the same thing with eMac. They both get a world title, and then never reach that top pinnacle level thereafter.

They're both more focused on being DG ambassadors these days.

They won their Worlds 7 and 8 years ago. Since then, their focus has been as much off the course (playing-wise) as on between course design and brand promotion. They're bound to find new life in terms of being top contenders for Majors once they reach Masters age, just like Barry and Kenny did.

I'm sure they are all working hard editing, but any ballpark on 1st round video release yet? I'm trying to debate whether I should stay up late tonight and wait....

I was surprised how well Simon scored today. He strained something about 40 minutes before his morning tee time and was considering withdrawing. I heard him saying he could barely throw a mini. He spend 20 or so minutes playing catch and must have felt better. Glad to see him pull it together, particularly as his dad traveled from Germany for the tournament.

I presume Kenny was the oldest to win MPO, he was 38 in 2006. Not outside of the realm of possibility
that record could be broken this year with the extra Masters competing.

Come on, Terry.
Pull out that camera and catch some video for that 3rd card.
Pretty please!!!!

Terry's plan is to cover that 3rd round. I don't know if he will have time to edit it overnight like the other guys, but it WILL be recorded. We have wrap-up shows to do at night.

Did you mean 3rd card?

It would be great to see a new champ this year, but I have a feeling a certain two fellas might have other ideas.

Like my wife always says, "Why can't you just understand what I mean, and not what I say!" hahaha. Yes, 3rd card. Sorry.

Yippee!!!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know Ricky's gonna go on a rampage. He seems to do better on lower cards (Paul does too).
Should be an exciting watch.
Can't thank you guys enough.
