2019 United States Disc Golf Championship Oct 2-5

Paige just birdied 6. That ended a 24-hole streak where she had failed to birdie; she was +17 with 9 OB's for those 24 holes. That has to be super-duper frustrating for someone who competes at the level that she does. Kristin Tattar is having an even worse time of it. I'll admit that I was hoping one or both of them would do well, but this doesn't look like the year.

That 2001 USDGC where Juliana cashed looks more and more impressive the longer that it's not matched.
.
She was at E up to the 17th hole R1 , that 2nd round that ruined her chances
To make the cash she needs to play 4 rounds over her rating, maybe next time

That's why that swing has to be so frustrating for someone like her. If she shoots E she probably makes the cut. For 17 holes she was at E, right where she needed to be. Then it got away from her.

I wouldn't say that unless he bombs the third round. Right now they're set up to pay about 45-50 spots. according to his rating, he should average -7 the next two days. That'd put him at -10 for the tourney. Obviously he's not playing that well, so let's assume he only shoots -4 the next couple days. that'd likely put him at -4, which is likely around 35th place (based on current play and ratings). That's in the cash with some breathing room.

I think Paul can still finish top 10, provided he gets back on track.

Update: top 50 cash.

Honest question: for someone with PP's rating, does the game plan for looking to cash look different than her current game plan? Is she being too aggressive (assumption here) or is the course just that hard and maybe random? I say random bc watching the AM champ's R1, he had at least one OB/hazard that seemed overly punitive given conservative play.

That's what I can't figure out about this course in terms of whether I like it. The always narrowing of the OB, double/double mandos, and "bean" holes just seem to be well-intentioned — to reward strong play — but the results seem kind of random; ie, being OB by 1 inch because the hole design jogs in a random curve just because.

Forget down...let's talk about the top. Nikko.. back on lead card? Dude can be incredible to watch, for a variety of reasons. Looking forward to it!

i never would have guessed it

and i love watching him throw and especially his sideshows

If you saw "Happy Thoughts" Nikko last night, you could tell he is trying to get his mind in the right place. And its working. Reminiscent of the "Heart Shirt" Nikko from GMC 3rd place. Hope he goes all the way. If not to the win, then at least 4 rounds of no meltdown.

After seeing R1 live and Jomez R1. . . i´m over this course, big open fields with OB sticks all over the place

Jerm and Sexton play in the event and not even they know if the shots are OB. . a few of the holes here must be the worst holes of the year

Odd's on McBeth missing the cash line this year?!
If Paul was able to make it to Rock Hill this year, odds would be very good that he would cash, maybe even win. The dude wearing the Paul mask is -1 today (thru 10) and +3 for the tournament. The cash line is even par as of now, so fake Paul definitely has a chance.

First time viewing USDGC?

No but the OB seems to get worse each year. . or i just forget just how bad a few of these holes really are
Those holes are just horrible for a first time viewer. . no way to see if the discs land OB or not

The sport need better courses. ."not just place a few hundred sticks on a field and we have a hard hole" :wall:

So BigSexy had a lot of complaints about the course and the ever-tightening OB and raised hay bales. And Simon Lizotte went vocal about the newly (and poorly) designed holes, and his comments were very negative. So it will be interesting to see if there's a backlash from the players about what is going on at Winthrop. I hope the players do make further and stronger input, so that the course next year is not the putt-putt silliness it is this year.

And those who want PPV to succeed should also be calling for corrections and improvements. Who wants to pay for disc golf on this gimmicky putt-putt course? Just sayin', is all...
