DGPT: Discraft's Great Lakes Open July 23-25

Eagle is ridiculous.

He often looks lost when attempting touch/finesse shots that, frankly, I could execute--and I wonder how he could ever win tournaments.

But then, he basically parks a 430' long, 60 ft uphill hole with a spike hyzer, and follows it up a few holes later by lacing a 400' forehand from a standstill stance--and I wonder how he ever loses.

Weather was nice today. Area is currently under Severe weather and Tornado warnings. Forecast for tomorrow is good, but tonight is supposed to be nasty.

Wouldn't surprise me if a tree or some large branches come down overnight, possibly affecting the course. Local news broke in with emergency warnings about an impeding apocalypse.

It was nice that it didn't rain, but I sweated off a few pounds today. (I'm not saying that's a bad thing :D)

Eagle and Ricky's scramble game is next level. Fingers crossed KJ doesn't have some insanely bad luck today! I'd love to see him take this one down.

LOL at Jerm's shock over Eagle going to the fairway of 2 with his drive on 15... Come on now, I predicted that play as soon as they announced the redesign. It was blatantly obvious. If anything I'M outright shocked more players aren't taking advantage of that play. Are more guys not on coverage doing that? They should be.

Good finish. Kyle hung in there to keep
It interesting.

I liked Nate Perkins as field reporter—he did a good job.

So Eagle broke the new hole 15? Lol!

Interestingly - he didn't do it again today. Surprised me - he pulled a pretty routine 3 out of it yesterday. But yeah, he "broke" it in just about the most predictable way. Just throw over the top of old hole 14s green to the fairway of 2 and you're pretty much eliminating bogey from the equation.

It's extra special watching live coverage on a course I'm intimately familiar with. Knowing where the rough is particularly gnarly, or not quite so bad when players are scrambling...I can soooo relate to what they're going through. Having had those nasty rolls on 8, 10, 11,12.

What Elaine King said about the footing around those berms on 17 is 1000% true. Huge advantage to land where you can take a flat runup, and avoiding the sloped hillside leading up to the road to the right off the tee.

After all that up & down, you're gassed by the time you get to 17, i which really makes it hard to execute your tee shot on 18. Then to feel every single step climbing that hill for your 2nd shot.

Kristin is making FPO so much more interesting. She's a factor in putting pressure on Paige! That putt on 17 was insane! That was the hole I thought PP would put her away on. Elaine has as interesting take on PP's missed putts at that 15-20 ft range.

How did PP take a triple on Hole 1? Her drive looked tight off the tee but we didn't have the advantage of a catch cam on coverage.

Heather Young looked impressive today. The only thing I've noticed is all her BH drives seem to be on the same hyzer line. I wonder if she would see more distance if she tried some different angles. Interesting Elaine mentioned that Heather won't reach her distance potential until her mid 20's.

Also, I started modeling my putt after hers and it has helped my timing so much. Seeing many more putts fall than before.

On the FPO side Tattar seems to have the most complete game right now, but PP might have the higher ceiling. Couid probably argue pretty close that Cat's is more complete right now too.

I think it's been discussed on the MPO side and the consensus was that Eagle has the highest ceiling. But right now Paul or Rick with the most complete game?

More difficult to say on the MPO side since you've got a larger variety of winning contenders every week.
