[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Part VI)

Fwiw... I was talking to Chance last night on messenger and he said to expect big things from the tempo as far as the Zone replacement, and he has a new Tour series stamp coming. If he ends up with that on a Tempo I will definitely be buying a tempo. I do like the stamp for the circuit series though by Michael Ramanauskas. Though likely he probably did chances stamp so either way it's a win haha

Wouldn't a volt be the likely disc to sit between a trance and a terra? Though God only knows what they're flying like these days

I really like the Circuit Challenge stamp also. I just wish there was a Circuit Challenge in my area this year. Oh well.....one person did try and they scheduled a date on the calendar, but MVP wasn't ready by the time the date came and went. Unfortunately, that meant the person wasn't able to reschedule it. Maybe I'll see the discs show up for sale online sometime.

Our local shop is doing a Circuit vs Trillogy Challenge, should be pretty fun to see what people choose and how they do. It seems like more higher level players are picking MVP.

It's supposed to, but the volts I have had have been way too close to the terra to the point that I just chose which one was more comfortable for me. The terra was also more consistent for me. I am going to give the Wrath a shot to see if I like it enough otherwise the Terra's may go back in the bag.

This is the spot I lean on the most. I'm forehand dominant and I tend to stay in that -1 to +3 stability window (turn + fade). I've tried most of the MVP Lineup in this range. Sounds to me like a lightweight Fission (somewhere around 165g) Volt is probably what you're looking for. It's going to start out pretty stable, but use it for a month and it will settle in pretty quickly.

The Wrath isn't a bad option, but to me just seems like a slightly less glidey Volt. The Tesla is also in that window. I might get a bit of extra distance from the Tesla, but not much. Less than 20' on average. Otherwise it's pretty close to the Wrath and the Volt.

If the lightweight Fission Volt and the Wrath still seem too stable, try an Eclipse Insanity.

I'm still holding out hope that Jordan will organize one. I really want to check out all of those discs.

I disagree on the light fission volt, I tried that for a while, I don't think it's a "real" volt. It was great for me until the wind started blowing. The Wrath is supposed to be straighter than a Tesla so a little less stable, the new Teslas have been all over the place but if one wanted to try that I would be looking at a neutron or a plasma if they make it a decent freaking color, all of the fission I've tried are just straight beef.

I can confirm the only tesla I through was a fission and it was super beefy. I really like the idea of -0.5 turn and 2 fade but hte only disc that seems to hit that out of the box is the zenith. I am going to take the wrath out tomorrow for it's first round to see how I like it, especially paired up with the fireball and insanity. On paper it seems sound, but not sure about real life.

Strunk Flugget's problem with the Volt was that it was too close to the Terra. Light weight Fission Volt solves that problem. Mine beat in to be much straighter than my other Volts.

Haha thanks, I guess I should read/remember better.

My problem with the Volt is none of em fly like the first runs....

Fission tesla are unwieldy, just gross now and a waste of plastic, unless you want your fireball to say tesla on it. Plasmas are the least stable unless they are PP PFN mega beef, neutron next and they've stayed the same virtually for years... fission are beef unless it's an older run those are pure f---in shapin magic.

The current run fission teslas have some dome and fly -1 2, at least the 150 class ones do. I haven't tried any heavier ones. I tend to not bag the flat beefy ones.

Maybe a heavy fission volt then? The Plasma Volt I had was mega beef a few years back, i sent it to streets, I couldn't throw it. I have a couple rare 165 neutron Volts that are real nice... and my old FR 171. The 165 fission were decent but not wind fighters like the FR's, they didn't give an F about wind but were still really shapeable.

Oooooh how new? Like this year? Dome is the key same with the volts.. just a little dome not this board flat BS.

I have 3 that I got a month or two ago. I go them from disc golf center so I could see what I was buying. I agree, board flat teslas are lame.

I wish MVP would get off their board flat kick and innova would get off their super domey one. Find a middle ground boys!

I feel like the Wrath is very true to numbers. The biggest thing I think you may not like is the lack of glide. Wraths are super straight, and great wind fighters, but they are not all that glidey. I use them for straight control, not necessarily for big distance, though they do have a decent amount of distance potential.

My 174 Fission Volt started out the most stable, and stayed that way for a very long time. Almost Fireball stable. Rotated it in and out of the bag for about a year and it's now starting to fly like a normal Volt. The Volt is my favorite mold. I have about a dozen of them in various plastics, weights, and states of wear.

Agreed. One of the reasons I prefer the Volt.

Would you believe (non working get smart image)

A 170g fission volt then haha.

They are both pretty good, I feel like the Volt shapes better but the Terra goes really straight before a more abrupt fade.

I have a couple of each and like them both. If I was all gyro I don't know what I would bag.

Though I like the Clash better then either of them(unpopular I know).

I wish MVP would get off their board flat kick and innova would get off their super domey one. Find a middle ground boys!

Checked the local store inventory online and the domiest discs were like Energy, Motion, Octane, Nitro, Fireball. Like really? Shouldn't the "flippy glidey" ones have the domes?

Ended up playing a round with the fireball/wrath/insanity combo. Also had the ascend with me. Feel like I'm missing something straight with a gentle fade…thinking of a max weight fission rhythm or putting a crave back in the bag.
