Whats the best way to hit some new courses

I have about 9 courses on my wish list (basically anything I havent played and looks at least mediocre) within the 50 miles of my location and figure I will start with them.

Was thinking about a big roadtrip weekend and driving in one big circle, but; not knowing how long it will take to play each, and the fact that it adds up to a lot of driving in a huge circle, then I am hitting courses with other courses not real far away but just not in that radius, maybe the circle isnt such a good idea.

So was thinking; maybe I pick the closest course on my wishlist, go there play; then once I see how much time it took to get there and get done, just look at the nearest on the nearby courses I havent played and follow that wherever it takes me.

Any suggestions on something like this?

Step one: Shut off computer
Step two: Get in car
Step three: Drive to course
Step four: Play course
Repeat step 2-4 until satisfied, tired, broke or dead then move to step 5, unless dead, then just quit
Step five: Return home
Step six: Turn on computer
Step seven: Tell us all about it

For me, the solution was finding someone to go with. Playing on my own, I really don't want to travel more than ~40 miles round-trip for disc golf. But even a ~150 mile round-trip drive isn't bad when you're not on your own. I've been hitting a lot more new courses recently thanks to this. :)

Use the map feature on this website and find a logical cluster of courses. Drive to that location and start with the first one you reach. Continue in a logical sequence until you run out of light. Drive home.

For the sake of time, you can skip step one.

Also, for such an important matter as this, you should ignore all traffic signs and lights. Playing courses on the wish list is a matter that simply cannot be delayed.

Nominated for post of the day. Nay, week.

Even though it was smartassery it is very true. My wife and I will talk endlessly about where to go next but the tried and true solution is to wake up one mornning, pack up the car and just go.

The initial question needs to be nominated for dumbest question of the week/month.
I was going to get mad at you for a plain mean post but just look at you! You're a little whale cake. Who can be mad at you?

Haha sounds like a plan.

In all seriousness; was just wondering how to plan it out. I would most likely go without the kids to make good time if I want to make the most of disc golfing and less driving and pee breaks (maybe should leave the fiance home as well); then there is keeping pace on the course. Think I will just get a buddy or 2 to go.

Might be best to plot a course ahead of time with optimal routing; then other courses that dont fit I can just pick off 1 for 1 day.

If you overthink it you will never go. Just get in the car and head to a course. Don't feel obligated to play them all in a week or two, spread them out, and go back to the ones that you like.

It's not rocket science.

Just read the reviews and photos on here, it's almost as good as the real thing and saves on gas

He's right, improving my personal best at Flip City by 8 strokes last week was nothing compared to reading reviews and looking at pictures of it while it rains today.

3 kids; each with their own sports and other organized events so; logistics get a lot more complicated than just head out the door. I want to pick a day that is open, leave in the morning, and get as many courses in as I can.

Go during the week. That's what sick days are for.

As you hit the new courses, don't be afraid to seek out the locals for advice. Ask if you can play with them. If you can't play in their group, ask if can just play behind them. One of the toughest things about playing many courses for the first time is just finding your way around.

There's only one Caravel in this part of NC, so nobody around here knows who Fudgie is. They're all missing out.

North Cackalackie resident: That dude with the colored whale tole' me all about it.
