This is some good info to know. Ive always found that yellow and green discs are definetly easier to see. Even though you think green would blend in with things, i have no trouble finding those colored discs.
However white, blue, red, even pink(sometimes), i will have a problem finding.

If disc golf involved catching a disc, this might be relevant. I wouldn't be listening to theories about evolutionary biology from a physics prof though. Spectral sensitivity is much more complicated than "we see green gud". Glad you are getting something out of your education, but, you twisted that knowledge to support some hypothesis. That's back asswards methodology and the most commonly and flagrantly committed error in science. Next on the docket: an experimental design class.

The fact that green is the brightest to our eyes, or whatever, seems pretty useless on disc golf courses where almost everything is green.

Specifically at dusk, our eyes perceive colors at different strengths than others...

Purkinje effect - blue becomes the most visible part of the spectrum as light levels diminish.

Truth is the only thing this study did was to have some bozo decide to make fire engines yellow or green (dayglow). Those were some dark days indeed. That is, until they figured out that most people still couldn't see these huge engines with light all over them. Sooo only by the grace of God, did they go back to RED!
Discs OK by me, but don't mess with my engine!

The same reason they make clear Champ discs. Easy to lose.

Hands down Pink discs are the best. I use to think orange, but they are rough to see in the fall when playing wooded courses. Unless you throw your Pink disc into a flowerbed, your going to be able to find it.

It's pink. Every other poll that has been posted has had pink far above any other colour...and for good reason: it's easy to see in the air (useful in tight conditions and when it might take a dirty kick) and easy to find on the ground in any season.

For a color-blind guy like me, green, orange, and red disks are the most difficult to find. Pink, white, blue, and very bright yellow are easiest to find. I require a spotter if I use a green/red/orange disc.
