I would return it. Karma man, its a bitch. You keep this one and its just a black mark on you man. It will haunt YOU!!!

That being said the guy is still a DB for not bothering to look for his disc.

So if someone picks up your disc you lost during a tourney, before you get back to pick it up. Do you think that person should keep your disc?

I think everyone will agree that tournaments are different.

Karma is a load of crap...

I'd tell him he can come pick it up from you. He's welcome to come get it at your convenience but I wouldn't go a foot out of my way to return it to him.

It doesn't matter if he is a jerk. Do the right thing. Keep your word and meet him Sunday. You've already called him and have agreed to meet him, so this entire conversation is obviously just for show.

At what point do you all start to realize that doing the right thing isn't about the other guy, it's about you. You are sowing seeds with every decision you make in life. It all counts. In the end, you will reap what you sow. Whether those seeds are good or bad are up to you.

There once was this guy that had this whole philosophy about loving everybody.:)
He said that anybody could love those that loved them, but that it was even better to be able to love those that don't love you back. I would tell you more about him, but something about this website seems to make me forgetful on this issue. ;)

Do the right thing for yourself bro. :hfive:

Agreed.

I found a brand new first run Prodiscus Jokeri last week WITHOUT a name and number on it. Realizing that this is a very rare find, I did everything in my power to see if I could find the owner of it. I checked out the lost and found forums on both here, and my local club site. The other day I came across a post in another thread making mention of this disc being lost. I inquired about it, found the owner, and mailed it back to him. I've found four discs since the beginning of winter, and I've made every attempt to return them to their rightful owners.

Just return it; it'd be an ass move to keep it after you called the guy. Going an inch out of your way to do it is completely optional though, and hopefully the guy will learn to look a couple minutes if he doesn't get his discs express delivered anymore.

Its not like the finder spent time looking for it either.. he just happened upon it. Logically its no different than if the guy had looked a long time for it - disc was still lost, disc was still found.

Of course you should give it back. obviously i wouldn't go out of my way, but you have 0 right to the disc.

I also don't understand why he's a DB. He is lazy, and probably wasteful, but most discs he leaves behind are obviously not going to be returned (i think it's safe to safe most people do not call).

I don't understand why how much a person looks for a disc has any bearing on if it should be returned to them.

You either believe in doing the right thing -trying to return a disc that has contact info, or you don't and keep other people's discs. it's a pretty black and white philosophy and hopefully you make a new (and lazy) friend.

. Why in the hell would I want to waste my time meeting someone who didn't care if they lost the damn disc to begin with?

Sounds like this guy, like a lot of people these days, is just lazy and expects other people to pick up the slack for him.

Agreed kind of. I didnt know you drove it back to their house. Anytime I find a disc it gets returned if the guy is still in the park, or is willing to meet me at the next park I play.

Since it is no trouble for me at all, I have never asked them to rate how much they loved the disc on a scale of 1-10.

Don't ever base your personal integrity on the actions of others. If it's your personal rule to always return a disc if you can, then return it. Basing the decisions you make on the actions of others only serves to complicate matters, and blur lines that shouldn't be.

^^ exactly so.

so that is why you are prerube's hero

EDIT: I hope you are okay with namedropping

Ive got one for you. This has been bothering me for a few days now. About a month ago the snow was so deep on my course that it was unplayable. I was trying to play anyway. On hole two I lost my pro wraith that was one of those discs that you hate to loose because it was beat in perfectly. I looked for about an hour or more with no avail. I came back the next three days for twenty minutes or more just to look for the disc. I finally had to resign to the fact that as soon as the snow melted I could resume my hunt or maybe I would get a call. The other day my good buddy calls me and says that he has my wraith. I asked him where it was because I looked sooo much. He said that he got it from another guy. He was playing with some dude who is not a regular, and the guy pulled it out of his bag to throw on hole two. He told my buddy that he had found it and it worked pretty good on this hole. My buddy told him that he knew that it was my disc and did he told the dude that he was going to take it and give it back to me. My buddy asked him why he had not called the number on the back, and the dude said that he never calls the numbers because he does not want anyone to have his number! To me that sounds like a crock of sh!t. Like what, if he calls the number on a found disc the person is going to start crank calling him ten times a day! THIS DUDES STORY SOUNDS WAAAAAY TOO FISHY TO ME! I think that the dude is just a sh!t bag. What do you think?

for shure his is a P.O.S. he just liked it and wanted to keep it. Good for you on going back day after day to look for it. I'm glad someone is like me and wont give up on a lost disc. :hfive:

It was a pain to get. It was in the middle of a thorn bush and I got a few cuts on my arm trying to get it out. I am supposed to meet him at the same course on Sunday to give it back. I was just wondering if you guys think I should go. But I like the idea of putting it back in the torn bush and then showing him where it is and making him dig it out and cut up his hands and arms.:p

i like that idea. if you already called then you would be a super dick if you didnt return it. however, for someone like that i wouldnt go a step out of my way to return it (yes i would still call). i despise lazy people.
just remember next time you find his disc, call him and tell him where its at, dont pick it up.

Best post...I rarely do this but...

make a treasure map for him, and tell him he has to search for it. then maybe he will learn how to search more effectively/be less lazy
