I have to agree that the wording is poor. Even after having the rule reviewed and explained, there's still confusion/disagreement, by people here, that are specifically looking at the rules. Good for Paul to admit that he had played a hole incorrectly, knowing that it would cost him.
Mark, your funny! Actually, the worst destruction of trees was on a rhbh anny/lhbh hyzer line that people cut a straight line for a rhfh. Currently, that line is covered with some cut down cedar trees planted in the former gap.
As a course designer, I don't mind anybody throwing a "creative" line. What I HATE, is when they break limbs, bend small trees, or cut down trees to open up an "easier" line. All the course was played by right and left handed, back hand and sidearm players, before the tees and baskets...
Dave, you didn't read/ understand my post. I never said you or any of the officials made an " official ruling". There was discussion of "permanent part of the course". I didn't see anybody actually look in a rule book. If you guys did, I missed it and I'm sorry. I do believe 90 seconds is...
The biggest problem with the chair situation is that no one had a Rule BOOK! Not the officials, not the player, not the player's caddie. Why was it ever necessary to call a PDGA official?
And yes, McBeth didn't wait for the final, official ruling. And bigwave, you seem like a nice guy, but...
They MJ proofed it. MJ used to throw a low thumber through the gap/ under the limbs of trees. Apparently, was seen as too easy to park the hole. The next year, there was a net placed up there. No real chance of a thumber since.
2 missed aces today! Playing with Stan McDaniel at the Plantation Ruins. First round, hole 13, I nutted the fairway, straight in the middle of the chains and kicked back out. Second round, hole 6, same thing. Dead middle chains and kicked back out the front! I hate those baskets!
Just got a purple A-14 to replace my 2 year old, still in great shape Grip EQ bag. Differences are subtle, but do make a good bag even better. Grip bag has really helped my back. Really comfortable.
Ropes change the way you play the course ALOT! Plus, the ropes are placed differently every year. And some of the baskets are in different positions all year, except for the tourney.
