    Omar Moreno set the single season record for making outs in 1980. He owns three of the top 10 single season totals for making outs. He was an out-making machine. He also holds the major league record for most stolen bases in a season without leading the league (96 in 1980; Ron LeFlore stole 97 for the Expos.)

    He also lead the NL in stolen bases twice and played every game in CF for the Pirates in '79 when they won the WS.

    Humor is hard to translate. I was told of the Metal Box/Second Edition thing by a music snob that had the Metal Box pressing. It's like me telling you that TP Cyclones are the only Cyclones even though you can still get D and ESP Cyclones because I have a stack of TP Cyclones and you don't.

    OK...I have Second Edition, never heard Metal Box but I have been told that if all I had heard was Second Edition I should never, ever claim to have heard Metal Box because it's soooooo much better even though it's the same recordings.

    So I've never heard Metal Box.

    How you jumped from PIL to the Slits is a mystery, but I now get the Slits/Budgie connection. I am somewhat better prepared to respond.

    I'll have to go back and listen, but the early PIL was very unstructured and rhythm dominated from what I remember. I used to listen to The Flowers of Romance a lot in college because it annoyed my roommates. It's interesting stuff from a musical perspective, but not necessarily easy on the ears.

    I've never heard the Slits. Sorry.
