13 disc bag limit...

Dave Feldberg played a PDGA tournament in Miami, FL and has about 45 discs in the bag that I counted it.

Back in about 1998 or 1999, I had a friend who, if memory serves, loaned him an extra bag for a tournament for some reason. Or maybe it was the other way around? I remember my friend accidentally backing over his own bag and splitting it. Maybe Dave let him borrow an extra bag? It was in the days of "Pro 2" ...

After much consideration I got my bag down to 8 molds. I had several doing the same thing. BB Aviar vs Pure, Buzzz ss vs Buzzz, & Leopard vs Eagle L. Decisions made- no going back now! So here it is.

1)- Opto Pure
2)- LE Z Zone
3)- 10th anniversary Buzzz
4)- Ti Wasp
5)- 11x-12x Champ Eagle L
6)- 11x-12x Champ Eagle X
7)- 4x-5x JK Champ Valkyrie
8)- Augusta Wraith

Don't like to use a large bag, use one that holds 12, tried out a lot of stuff but if limited to carrying just that it would be:

RFF Wizard
G9i Wizard
Pro Pig

Z Comet
Champ Mako 3
E Karma

Champ Banshee
Star Teebird
Epic

GL Saint
FLX Avenger SS
E Slayer

Played a tournament this weekend, carried only 7 discs, and won.

173 Medium VP
173 Firm Summit
169 Medium Ibex
172 Medium Obex
169 Firm Ascent
163 Unlace Proto
167 Medium Lace

It was nice to only have a few disc options. Especially since I am extremely familiar with all of those discs. I'd pull out a disc and know exactly what I could make that disc do. It just came down to me executing, which, for the most part, I did.

I carry 13 typically. Mr. 1978 loves the compact assortment of discs and other amenities I carry in this precious little package.

That said, here is the line-up with which I currently roll; everything except the Leo is max weight... I know I have a lot of overlap, but they are all really just discs with which I feel comfortable... which has made several recent disc drownings a pain in my arse, since I generally don't carry multiples.

Cryztal FLX Challenger (putting)
Glo Z Zone (approach and s-flicks)
R-Pro Rhyno (driving, approach, and anny flicks)
Cryztal Z Buzzz SS (straight to turnover)
Glo Z Buzzz (straight to slight fade)
Z Hornet (fade, spike hyzer)
Glow Champ Leopard (straight to turnover)
ESP Cyclone (straight; only here because I recently drowned a Stalker)
GL Vision (turnover, lots of overlap with the Leo)
GL Saint (straight to slight fade)
Z Nuke (long flex to fade)
Z Venom (spike hyzers, hard fades)

1 os destroyer
2 s destroyer
3 un destroyer
4 Teebird
5 Firebird
6 Eagle
7 Roadrunner
8 Buzz
9 Roc
10 Comet
11 os Wizard
12 s wizard
13 un wizard

Dave Feldberg played a PDGA tournament in Miami, FL and has about 45 discs in the bag that I counted it.

I can only think how screwed Feldberg would be if this 13 disc rule would come true..

My 13 discs:
2x Zero Line Pure

1x Opto Line Pure
1x Lucid Suspect
1x Lucid Truth
1x VIP Tursas

1x Champ Firebird
2x C-line FD

1x C-line PD
1x S-line PD
1x P-line PD
1x Lucid Renegade

1) star wraith
2) blizzard wraith
3) proton volt
4) neutron volt
5) champ banshee
6) star leopard
7) z hornet
8) z buzzz
9) z buzzz
10) flying squirrel
11) opto pure
12) glow champ rhyno
13) xg champ rhyno

This covers all my molds, just trims out a couple plastics.

I'm in for a dozen...

1) Champ Destroyer
2) Z Flash
3) Star Teebird
4) Champ Teebird
5) Star Firebird
6) Champ Firebird
7) Z Buzzz
8) SS Buzzz
9) Champ Shark
10) Opto Fuse
11) SS Wizard
12) SS Magic

I usually roll with about a dozen, give or take. Wooded courses I carry fewer, open courses I may carry an extra or two. When I play Blue Valley I stuff as many as will fit in the Fade. You don't want to limit yourself out there.
All putters and mids are 175-176g, all drivers are 167-170g (except the freak 175g Eagle-X)

1. Classic Judge
2. Classic Judge

3. Beat to straight KC Pro Roc
4. Star San Marino Roc
5. Z Hornet
6. Sparkle Z Shockwave

7. Champ Teebird (worn a bit)
8. Champ Teebird (newish and overstable)
9. Opto River
10. GL River
11. Star Eagle-X (freakishly overstable)

12. Rotates depending on course and conditions
Z or X Avenger
or
GL or Sparkle Opto Saint

I can't recall ever carrying more than 13 at a time.

Ion
Ion
Tangent
Axis
Tensor
F2
Volt
Volt
Shock
D1
D2
D3
D4

Funny, I just got a Gorilla Boy Chimp so I have disced down to exactly 13 for local rounds...

1) Blizzard Dominator (long smooth hyzers)
2) Blizzard Teedevil (Easy lin-drive distance ... very straight)
3) CFR Champ Tern (longest disc, but takes some room to operate)
4) Cryztal Avenger SS (Anhyzer drives)
5) SE Teebird (Straight Tunnel Shots)
6) Tourney Underworld (Shorter flex drives)
7) Z-Stalker (controllable low speed hyzers)
8) Tourney Tursas (anny approach)
9) Tourney Warship (straight approach)
10) Biofuzion Fugitive (slight fade)
11) GL Mace (hyzer approach)
12) Biofuzion Judge (Driving Putter / wind putter)
13) RFF Wizard (main putter)

I'll only use 10 slots.

1. P Ion - Main putter/Driving putter
2. P Anode (soft) - Long putts, drives, anny stuff
3. N Tensor - wind, late fade, awesome flex shots, tree weaver
4. Z Buzzz - Does what buzzz's do
5. Eclipse Tangent - long fluid anny lines, approach (could probably do without this one)
6. TP Tursas - more extreme turnovers, anny
7. Z Pred - Wind fighter, utility stuff
8. P Volt - Long straight drives with some fade
9. N Volt - hyzer flips for good D
10. N Amp - turnovers, anny stuff

Additionally, they must hole out using the same ball they teed off with.

Unless deemed damaged and has to be approved by playing partner/competitor before it can be replaced.

I too think there should be limitations on how many disc can be carried.
What that number is up for debate.

My bag holds 12-13 discs (Lat 64 Easy Go). Currently bagging:

Hard Pure
Star Aviar
Star Mako3
Champ Mako3
ESP Buzz
Opto Claymore
Big Z Zombee
Pro Valkyrie
Star Valkyrie
Gold Maul
Opto Maul
Recycled Maul

#13 varies depending on course and conditions. It's either a Pro Thunderbird, a Tourney Hatchet or Underworld. I'm working on using less molds and varying the plastics for my main discs. I don't throw with much power... excepting that fact helped my game. I used to bag a Star Wraith but gave it to a buddy b/c he crushes with it.

Z nuke
2x p cannon
Star fb
2x Star teebird
Z drone
2x dx roc
Kcp Aviar
Hard Sole
Dx Aviar
Jk Aviar (for catch)

Someone, no doubt has mentioned this:
The disc mfg companies are so dominant in the sport, that a bag limit would never happen.
Could you even sanction a tourney with a disc limit?
Chuck??
