[Innova] Aviar - Driver Big Bead

I'm not a big fan of putters in high end plastic, but the BB Aviar is one of the best putters in existence. It's a bit more overstable than some like, but that isn't an issue (it's actually a positive) if you learn to putt and approach correctly.

Has anybody ever thrown the Aviar Driver Big Bead? Does anybody know much about them? I am thinking of getting one for my wife. Looks like it would be pretty good but I just don't know what kind of feedback those who have seen one would have. Please let me know.

the aviar is one of the most sold discs on the planet. there are big bead, small bead and no-bead variations that have been made through the years by innova, your choice in what may work best for you....if you have some extra cash try a light weight one for your wife and maybe a max weight one for you. ive got one of each in my bag, and when putting i use a 160 gr. jk pro aviar, its money.
ive recently switched back to DX/pro plastic from the champion and star plastic aviars. the reason being control and grip. they may not last as long, but the ability to control your shot for approach and putting far outweighs the longevity of the higher end plastic. hope this helps. good luck.

I have a brand new yellow Star BB Aviar 170g if your interested in trade? I've only thrown it twice.

I am really looking for a white one. I am going to get discgolforegon to do a little work on it for me. Let me think if I can get yellow to work. Does it have any sharpie on it. If so that would be a deal breaker.

I don't think I sharpied it yet. I'll check after work.

Yellow is right in line next to white & clear as far as disc dyeing preference goes. You can put some pretty sweet stuff on yellow.

I throw a Star Aviar (not the driver version) as a driver all the time. It is absolutely the straightest disc I've ever thrown (especially downhill) and anytime a hole will allow me to use it... I will.

In my opinion... the Star Aviar drivers are not as good for driving as the beadless aviar version in the same plastic (ie. regular Star Aviar).

If the Aviar driver you were looking at is for putting... I would recommend DX plasic.

846 day old thread coming back!

I just got three, perfectly identical BBs. Yellow, 175, exact same handwriting, one has a different color stamp. This morning I took 'em to the Mighty Z, field tested and putt with them. The drives were pretty nice. Farther than what I do with my current putters, and very predictable. The over-stability seems to dissapear when driven. Putting gave me a super predictable, short S flight. I release my putts with some ante, and the BBs just turned right back into the chains.

I guess I'm going to go ahead and drop the Ions from my bag and shoot with these. If atleast for a while. I love my Ions to death, but this last tournament... I had more spit-outs than a porn flick. I didn't hit one bird. Anyone that knows me will tell you this is highly unusual. I cannot believe how many times I banged chains to watch my Soft Ions bounce right out.

A question: Not long ago, someone 'wanted' a CryZtal FLX Banger. Is this a mythical creature? Or is it for real?

Just went back to my bb aviars recently after trying others. Gonna try some bb champs, stars and old dx . We'llsee which wins the bag spot

Btw Cf bangers arent real but z bangers are

Bumpy!!
Dx and star bb are sweet. I love both of mine after a few rounds already. The dx sorta flies between a yeti and a kc to me,Not too straight but not too overbearing in fade like my star. Love both and both serve their purposes in drives and upshots. Up until last week ive never thrown a dx or star. Mainly kcs.

I really like BB Aviars! KC Pro's are my main putters, I throw them off the tee also. I also have a Star Aviar Driver and just added a JK Aviar yesterday. The Driver I bought so it'll stay fairly stable for awhile for driving more. I bought the JK yesterday because it feels nice and grippy like my San Marino 12x's I have.

Inside the circle they all seem to putt pretty much the same.

I started using the star aviar driver a while back as my main putt and approach disc.

I recently started using a DX no bead "classic" aviar for putts, short straight approaches, and longer approaches that need a right turn. I am using the star aviar driver for shorter approaches that need a fade left at the very end, and for longer approaches that need to go fairly straight.

Making this change, and putting more aggressively, my putting percentage at 30 feet has risen overnight from about 10% to about 60%. Also, the two aviars for approaches have proven extremely controllable.

I know a lot of people warn against using more than one putter, by my results have been good. Just this weekend, I got five birdies in one round. Previously, I have averaged more like one birdy every five rounds.

whoa whoa whoa.......where can i get the dx ones? I had no idea they existed! I love the kc, the star ones are lackluster in my opinion. I still prefer to drive with small bead aviars for distance, bb for wind or overstable duties.

I always forget how beefy a new KC aviar is. That thing wants the ground
