Best 9 Hole Course in the US

Thanks for all the responses.

Do any of the course mentioned rival any of the top ten or twenty 18 hole courses?

I am not saying Brickyard is better than BRP but I think it is in the realm. I would say Brickyard is a solid 4.4 and BRP is a 4.6 or 4.7.

Signal View DGC in Maurertown, VA is a pretty sweet nine.It has 3 pads per hole and they were all very well thought out, making each one feel completely different.A good variety of different shots, and a scenic view of nearby Signal Knob and the Shenedoah Valley. Its not very far from Paw Paw, WV either.

The pictures make it look pretty awesome.... and then again.... I have to remind myself that it's missing another 9 holes...

Just played Rockness Monster this weekend. Three tees, good variance of distance, a little anny friendly (for a RHBH), but the best 9-holer I ever played. That said, there is a planned 18, just need funding for the additional baskets.

+1 for Signal View. I really liked the three pads. They aren't concrete but the rubber pads may even be nicer. No issues with rolling ankles if you go off the pad. I also like that the short tees are very beginner friendly. Makes it great for a mixed experience crowd. Good variety! Great views!!

PS - It's only going to get better since it sounds like they are planning to expand to 18.

I love a well desinged 9 hole course. My top three in order are Los Olivos, Pheonix AZ, Southside Park Trinidad, CO and Skyline Canyon City, CO.

The Brickyard does sound impressive. Around here (D.C.) I'd recommend Bluemont in Arlington VA. Three tees and up to four pin positions per hole, this one probably does the best job of maximizing a limited amount of property. Several holes have permanent blue baskets in the long (D) positions, eventually they all probably will.

Bluemont is great, but you need to make the drive to Signal View.

I just played Bethel University and it is my highest ranking 9 hole course but I think I will like the Brickyard even more so I should hit that up on my next trip to MN . . .
