Envy goddamnit!
Putt'r - duh.
My Electron Envy beat in to so straight and long I no longer really use it for an approach disc. If carrying a limited bag, I'll carry it for a putting approach combo. Damn thing goes forever.
You know, I had a little time left for 4 more holes and decided to do Envy vs full bag (of gyro) and I'll be damned if the Envy wasn't winning -2 to even par.Wims said:
" I set my best and second best score at my local course using only an Envy. I love that disc"
And Bill Fleming said:
"I've been on the Minimalist Bag thread in the General part of the forum and stated that if I had to do a one disc bag, it would be the Envy. Yesterday, I actually did it. Threw 18 holes with only an Axiom Electron Firm Envy. The round ended up being a bit worse than my average for the course, but better than my worst. But one cool thing from the 'experiment' was the different shots I successfully made that I would have never tried if I had my full bag. Another thing was how good my putts outside my "confidence" zone I was able to make. The Envy may now take the place of my putter (Legacy Clutch) AND my approach (DGA Breaker).
I'm going to try a round with the Envy and a midrange to see how I do.....but I might also try another Envy only round.
My thought is the Envy is an excellent all around disc - tee shots, fairway shots, approach, putts - the Envy has it covered. Might not get super long distance...but still.
If you know someone starting off in disc golf, suggest they play a few rounds with only the Envy. I know that's going to be my advice. "
And I say "Haha I'm just going to beat this to death!"
...the APX is criminally underrated...
The APX can be a little tricky. If I practiced a lot and concentrated when I played, I'd dial in an APX and be killer with it. I don't practice and when I play I spend more time making sure I don't spill my beer than I do lining up my putts; when you play like that the Wizard is a lot easier to putt with.Plucked from a different thread:
Doesn't everybody throw Envy's now? Aren't you a cliché at this point? :| Time to jump off that bandwagon, buddy. There are too many people on there for you to safely practice social distancing.....or an Envy.
Back in the day I used to play with "drunk drivers" . I'd keep my usual stuff in but if I was taking a case of beer I'd make sure to throw in my force... who am I kidding I used to throw the force 350 like a champ! It was always there, I just made sure I threw it on anything further than 200' it always came back.
The envy... also good for when you get a bit sloppy
What can't it do?!!

Too hard is not a thing. I'm waiting for someone to come out with Viagra plastic. :|
Too soft describes 95% of putters so you learn to live with it.
If I had a time machine I'd just go back to 1999 and buy 20 9X KC Pro Aviars. Then I could just ignore all threads about putters and throw 9X KC Pro Aviars until I died. :|I love me some stiff/hard putters, especially for throwing. I just hate when it goes limp. :|
KC Pro Whales are my current jam. Feels better then a KC Aviar. Straighter out of the box too, less fade to beat out. I've definitely tried my share of putters too.
