hello friends, i am fairly new to disc golf and to this forum. i am starting my collection of disc and have a few already. my question is about disc weights. explain to me the reason and purpose for differant disc weights and their applications on the course. i assume that lighter weights fly farther but heavier weights are more stable, like in the wind for example, is that correct?? what else should i know about disc weights?? and what are "must have" discs that every player should have? thanks.

Welcome to DGCR wildcat5415!

Weight play into a variety of factors, some of which you are correct.

Heavier weights to fly more stable and are less effected by wind.

Lighter weights fly more understable, are easier to flip over, are more prone to wind but are easier to get up to speed.

If you try our nice search tool at the top of the page, click on advanced search and then type in weight and search titles only, there should be plenty more information there.

Good luck!
