[Other] Hand Turned Wooden Minis

Almost 11 years ago I made this thread.
10 years ago almost to the day I made my first mini.
5 years ago, I was vending at the bowling green fly-mart selling mostly minis that Clay made - different types of wood (the friend mentioned in the OP)
4 years ago I bought my lathe and started experimenting with resin - these were my colored pencil and cake sprinkle minis, also I created "Treasures of the Forest" as a business.
3 years ago I made my first hybrid mini, the staple of what I make today.
1 year ago I was forced out of my job, 17 years of working for YMCA Camps, and took on TotF full time.
1 week ago I invited Clay over to bring him back into the fold and teach him how to make hybrid pieces, I will once again be carrying pieces made by Clay under the brand TotF.

Also, back in Feb I spent 10 days straight learning how to use my CNC. Here's where that has led:

Related to the post above. James used that mini all of last year (including "the shot). This year his gf Jordan commissioned a mini to be made from 4 leaf clovers that she collected while on tour with James (and wood, live oak, I picked up from the OG disc golf course, Oak Grove in Pasadena). I made two, one for James III and one for his father James II.

I can't see this without hearing the sequence of seven chimey tones Jomez uses as the intro music for their clips, just as their logo is coming on screen.

Sorry Dewg, I just needed to hear that. :)
Maybe you can record that 3 secs of sound as a WAV file, and put some cheap, greeting card playback device on the bottom of those minis. ;) :p

I have been living with a close friend of mine, he makes at least part of his income as a wood turner, making beautiful artwork of bowls, lampshades, plates and other very cool art pieces. I brought up the idea of turning a mini (I am going to make myself one at some point, probably in the fall) for if nothing else as a bad ass looking bag tag.

My question is, is this something that anybody might be interested in, either for yourself, or possibly as a bag tag/trophy type of thing. If there is interest, how much would you be willing to pay for something like this - for example, if I had a small collection of some sick looking wooden minis at a tournament, would you pay $10? or would $5 be a fair price?

Not trying to get rich here, only trying to help a friend who is continually struggling to make a living.

I have nothing available at the moment, but if there is interest, it may be something that will be available in the near future.
Cool to read the OPto get see where Dewg got started with this. Gives you a better feel for the journey he's taken.

Right!? I reread this thread a couple times of year. The most obvious regret is that I linked images from my blog.. which no longer exists, so all of those early photos are hiding in digital land somewhere.

I still have this one that I won a few(?) years ago...
