Disc Golf in the news...

I tried to post this in the other DG in the news thread but I was not able to because the thread was too old.

Here's a story about Hughes Stadium in Colorado.

It's always a shame to lose all or part of a popular course, but that's not unexpected when we put in so many courses in busy multi-use parks.

Bummer...I learned how to play on edora and the old 18 hole that used go through colorado states campus. class at 8am....no problem..play 3,4,5 on your way to class or finish the round with a stop at the Pickle Barrel...awesome. great memories.

PLEASE help save our course!!!

Hello, my name is Luc Hensley and I am the vice president of the Northern Colorado Disc Golf Club (NCDGC) in Fort Collins, CO. I am hoping to bring attention to a threat to disc golf in the northern Colorado area. The city of Fort Collins is proposing to reduce the beautiful Edora Park disc golf course from 18 holes to 9. We are vehemently opposed to this reduction. The course at Edora is over 20 years old and has long been a world-class tournament destination for players all over the area. Downsizing the course would be a devastating blow to the sport of disc golf in northern Colorado.

I have started a change.org petition to request that the city refrain from changing the course. I am humbly requesting for the petition to be spread as far as possible, and for anyone who supports disc golf to sign it and share it with their friends. We are hoping to gain 1,000 signatures before we present the petition to the Fort Collins city council. For updates on our fight players can check our official site or our facebook page.
