grrr! wish i would've known there were MO golfers on the board. i would've tried to meet up with you to play a few rounds. i just visited last week :(

Damn, you guys in the mid-west really have got it goin' on as far as courses per capita go. I've got 1 course about 5 minutes from my place, but I rarely play it b/c it's so crowded. Next closest is my home course, about 10-15 minutes away. Besides that, I've got another 4 or 5 courses within 30-45 minutes from me.

When I first got into DG though, I lived in Santa Barbara about 2 blocks from the course--that's how I first got into it. That was pretty sweet...unfortunately though at the time, the next closest course worth playing was over an hour away.

I have Ellison Park about 5 minutes from my house but it tends to be a bit too crowdy a lot of the time so I normally head about 15-20 miles away to the courses on the west side of Rochester (Baker Farm, Parma, etc.).

About 4-5 five of these I would consider nice courses, the others are just open field or short pitch and putts. There are about 17 more courses within 50 miles, but these are the closest. Depending on how far you're willing to drive there are a lot more in austin.

Hickory Run State Park - 19 holes - 15 miles
FE Walter Damn - 20 holes - 22 miles
Jordan Creek - 18 holes - 30 miles
Little Lehigh Parkway - 18 holes - 32 miles
South Mountain - 18 holes - 35 miles
DeSales U - 18 holes - 40 miles
Long Trout Winery - 18 holes - 45 miles

...some other parks are around 45 minutes away...but i hardly go to them...

I am drooling!! I'll trade you some CE and San Marinos for that location!

Private Course- Wisconsin School for the Deaf- 6 Holes 15 minutes

Everything elses is at least 30 minutes away! But here is Southeast Wisconsin it is worth the drive for some of the courses around.

I just played Fairview Park today in Round Lake, Il. Sweet

2 mile walk for this:

thanks....PM me if you ever get out here for a round. More power than technical, but its nirvana for the soul golfer in me.

from home near worcester, there is:

buffumville lake - 16 miles
west thompson, ct - 19 miles
marshall street (pyramids and maple hill) - 17 miles
barre falls - 22 miles
hodges village dam (9 holes) - 16 miles

Whats nice is that hodges and buff are right down the road from each other and buff is a 27 hole course. so i can play 36 holes in one outing without much driving, and there is a disc store within a mile of buff...so when i am ready for an action packed day, get off the highway, stop at store, stop at hodges, continue to buff and get 36 holes in and some new plastic....its a pretty nice setup

I think there are a couple more like goodnow park but those are the ones i play above.

From my lady's place (home away from I'm never home).... Zilker Park... 5 miles, Pease Park... 8 miles, Seawright... 5 miles, Circle C... 7 miles, Steeplechase... 15 miles, Wilco... 25 miles, and there are more in Austin that I've never played (Bart, Round Rock, Cat Hollow, etc). Circle R is an hour from here, but my real home is 10 miles away from Circle R, 20 from Steeplechase, and 15 from Texas State Campus. And of all those listed, every one except TxState (and some Circle C) is a Houck-designed course, so it's a good play. Rock on Central Texas!

Circle C.... never again will I step foot on that course. My roommate is from Austin and I went down there with him one weekend and we played there. Wow. But Pease and Seawright are pretty fun.

If I'm doing good at stop signs and red lights I can make it from my apartment parking lot to Veteran's parking lot in 2.5 minutes. Disc golf was a major factor in choosing my complex.
