You have unlimited funds, and authorization...where would you put a DG course?

I would love to have one in and around the "Academical Village" at UVA. There is an object course at UVA, and the Homer statue is one of the holes, but if I had unlimited funds and permission, I'd set up a course through the surrounding gardens, with 18 being a tee off from the steps of the Rotunda.

A giant indoor facility for year round play in perfect weather conditions. It would have trees and water and elevation and it would be awesome.

Along the beaches on the San Diego coast. Could you imagine teeing off with waves in your sight? Beautiful!

my back yard....and i would put not just 1 but 4 courses.....in a giant square, that way you could come and play either of the courses depending on what you like....and then i could hold huge tourneys every year and it could be 4 rounds with all different courses..

I would make a dream course at the "sleeping bear dunes"!!

I'd by the 208 acres 1.5 miles up the road from my house (6.2 mill, 44K in property taxes / year. Insane!) and then build a Colorado mountain course.

Through the big apple. In the Subway, through some airports, out of one skyscraper and into another. Through Central Park. Stuff like that.

Or, I've also though of having one that just goes straight up and down the east coast. It'd be thousands of holes, but it would be awesome to just know that anywhere on the east coast I could just drive to the line that the course follows and play as many holes as I wanted. I'm thinking somewhere near the Appalachian trail. Of course, both of those are completely impractical.

Let me think...

1) It would have to be accessible by a majority of all players.
2) A place where all skill levels could be challenged and improve.
3) The terrain would have to have elevation changes but not feel like I'm climbing mount Everest.
4) A good mixture of available throws from the tee.
5) Be playable year around.
6) Have reasonable access to hotels, restaurants, and other items needed for the world's biggest and best tournament.
7) Plenty of land to accomplish this.

Spokane Washington. It would be just like Manito Park. Now that would be a course.

For any who would wonder how I know about Manito. I was born and raised in Spokane. I spent a lot of time playing there. Tee 1 would be inside Duncan Gardens and I would finish in the Japanese Garden with its water hazards.

There would be room for a Pro course, a rec course, and a mini course. Awesome

I think any of the locations they filmed Lord of the Rings in New Zealand would be ok by me.

Savage Park, Maryland which is walking distance from my house, with the park terrain and the Little Patuxent River it could be really sick.

Rock Creek Park, DC would be the other location since there are no courses in DC to wait out rush hours.

How many of you look at land as you drive by, thinking "That would be a sweet course"? I know I do!

All the time! You would be amazed how many good holes you could put in the highway medians.

As for courses that I might actually have a chance to make, there is a lot of good farmland around here in NC that could easily make some ridiculously good courses.
