[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

So Are you suggesting replacing Vibram with innova who have about 10 midrange disc for the same shot...? If you're going to hate on Vibram leave the thread. They are a legit company and I've personally thrown every disc maker, and yet still have an all Vibram bag. If you don't like Vibram that's cool, just don't post nonsense on a thread that people follow.

Did you even look at what he replied to? I feel the same way towards people who abandons things (like vibram) at the first sight of trouble or even in this case something so insignificant as a contradictory name

I'm not denying the unLace's understability but I still think the Innova Mamba is the big winner in the "Most Understable" category.

It'd be interesting to see! The unlace is faster, I believe yet understable. I had a Champion Mamba 150-class that I gave to my friend. I also gave another one of my friends a red, white, and blue unlace.

unlace/Mamba breakdown: I think the unlace is better for rollers, because it doesn't beat-in like plastic. Also, the grip means it's easier to snap on a big hyzer than plastic. (I've seen some pretty weird grips when it comes to hyzer lines especially, but I throw my hyzer lines with a normal power grip, which is a testament to the grip.)

Would've been nice to throw the Mamba/unlace back-to-back, but I'm terribly biased, so it wouldn't be fair to the Mamba.

really looking forward to the solace.

is a firm lace less stable then a medium lace? finding a big gap between my lace and my unlace.

I would say no, probably more stable. Its possible you have a freak flat Lace or very domey unLace. Goto your local shop and take both discs, look for a flatter unLace than yours or a more domey Lace than yours for a go-between.

I've only ever thrown medium Laces. They have an extended beat-in period before they lose their original stabilities. Once they do, they fly far but not as consistent.

Pop it in the Microwave for 30 seconds, let it cool down, then do it again...You'll notice it firms up a bit and the stability will return some.

At least that's worked for me.

Per Steve Dodge's Maple Hill Open posts on Facebook, the Solace will not be out until July now.

^^ love affair guaranteed to last forever

at least another week

The name change is dumb.

Haha! I actually messaged Steve Dodge last year suggesting this as name for either their SlightlyOversableLace (SOLace), or as their SeverlyOverstableLace and he said they would throw it into the potential name pool for the future. I'm sure I'm not the only one who had this idea, but it looks like they liked it!

My name suggestion was the Colace, but there's a copyright law involved with that one. Rid your unwanted strokes... :)

o-Lace

Liking the o-Lace. I've been impressing my buddies with my forehand distance. They got nothing on my 300 foot drives into a headwind parked at the basket!

Does Vibram still make monochrome (one solid color) discs? The chunk, marble style stuff is really pretty but it'd be nice to have a solid color disc to stick out of nature better.

Yes, seemingly more in their putters. I have gotten some fairly solid colors from both community and discgolfcenter. Now even my solids have tiny flecks of other colors.

I got an white Lace as one of my Birdie Bash discs.

My friend had a cool multi-color Summit. It was light colored, so I was jealous. A lot of my multi-colored ones are dark/light combination. Would be nice to see some combos in the light/light category.

Right now, the softs are monochrome, so I assume the mediums and firms are multi-colored. A lot of times there's only one spec that's a different color, but it's mostly one colored. I have a few that are one color on the top, and another color on the bottom.
