[Axiom] Axiom Insanity

this thing is a blast. Honestly it might replace my inertias all together if the plasma teslas become a stock disc. The axiom colors just bling and are so easy to see. The glide on this disc is insane and hit way too many nice shots now not to bag it. Definitely a winner for me and NEVER expected that. it is so forgiving and glidey you will understand why the insanity is such a nice control distance driver after just a few throws-- I can promise that'

Onemile, Great review, thanks! It sounds like you would rank them from most understable to least understable as: Impulse, Insanity, Inertia? Also, could you possibly rate these from shortest to longest or are they all fairly similar for you?

Thanks! You nailed it on the stability chart. For distance they are all really close, but I give the nod to the Insanity or Inertia because they'll flex out a bit at the end.

To everyone else who commented, I appreciate the support and kind words. Thanks for reading!

So, I'm not sure if I'm reading this right, everything I read is, it's not an Inertia, it's better, but I'm not seeing the actual evidence of said better in the flight. Does it have more glide? Does it have less fade? If they both turn 80% of the flight then come back, is that on the same line? What makes it different or better? You say it is, but it sounds like an Inertia. Don't get me wrong, I love my Inertia, and I would love my blue core Inertia to have a red or grey or pink rim instead of black, but is that all I'm paying for?

The Insanity for me is clearly different than the Inertia. Less HSS and so it holds a slightly harder Any than the Inertia, but begins to fade back at a similar place (maybe a touch later) than the Inertia. The Inertia is a very beginner friendly driver. The Insanity is just a touch more friendly.

The fade is forward more than to the side for me. As a result, if I miss it still goes. I don't get that same kind of forgiving flight from the Inertia.

The Insanity also feels different in the hand, not as flat as the Inertia. I do think it has more glide as well.

Lost my Inertia today, so the Insanity has just been bumped up to lead off hitter. I have a feeling it will fill the role nicely.

To me, the insanity is to the inertia as the theory is to the tangent in terms of flight. Little bit less stability at certain points in the flight and a different kind of LSS. Not saying the insanity has no fade like the theory pretty much does but the differences between the two mids and the two drivers are similar.

yep. Or even like a beat up axis vs tangent kind of thing I definitely hear where you are coming from. Glides like crazy but isn't understable like a impulse.

RE: *tern -- The pair I threw did not have as much HSS as even an inertia in my experience. They are much more like a slightly faster impulse IMO. I also had some champ terns though that were nearly tesla OS too so not sure where your sample fits in. If you want a disc that is easy to throw far like a tern id say the insanity is on point.

i know overmolds like the back of my hand, but the inertia/ impulse/ insanity/ inspire thing IS confusing...

AIM would you say that the Insanity is easier to control on a distance hyzer flip than the Inertia? I can throw around 400 ft. on distance lines and I often find myself getting very mixed results with my Inertia. Some times I will pop them up on a hyzer flip and they'll flip all the way over and burn into the ground. Other times I will take a bit off and they'll hyzer flip to flat and then come back relatively hard. I've had some amazing tosses with it when I get just the right mix of power and hyzer flip but it is hit or miss.

I believe the disc between the Tesla/Inertia will likely be my go to distance disc in this class but I am always drawn to the white OM on Axiom so I'm interested in trying the Insanity vs. my Inertia

it was bad enough before the insanity....

jcassidy1990-- Its hard to really put into words. I can tell you I haven't used an inertia in a few rounds and not missing it at all. I threw a lot of rolllers with mine and the insanity is a lot better for those for some strange reason-- like you mention sometimes turn sometimes straight with fade and when the inertia does turn over it can be hard/fast with the flat top while I find the slightly higher shoulder (dome but not dome lol) gives the insanity a uniqueness to it which is more forgiving..

So, Yes?! lol. Still figuring it out but honestly ill say it again, I didn't expect to like this disc at all and am loving it. Threw a roller last night that went way past a basket I was shooting for after standing up straight and landed (just measured GPS) @ between 500-550' :D

Well I do believe I will be buying an Insanity now....... (Like I needed motivation)

I do find that the Inertia is really on the cusp of being just too stable for what I want it to do.

Also what is up with these metallic looking Overmolds? Are they just gray or do they have a metallic look? I keep seeing pics of them and I've never seen anything like that from other GYRO molds
