I finally threw over 400 feet the other day (416')!!!

Now, I don't want to be one of those people that only want to throw far so I think i'll start working on my short game more often. Especially because on most holes I won't need to throw farther than 400'.

I guess I could throw in a poll.

What's your longest throw, not consistant, just farthest?

Nice, Nice. The first throw over 400' feels great. My furthest on flat land is about 430', with a ridiculous tailwind on a great throw. I average about 390' when throwing for max D.

My best throw was 425', but my average when going for D is only about 350. That's what's really important, although it always feels great to crush one.

yeah, my average is right around there (350-370'). But it was awesome to see it fly the distance of a football field, and then some.

Probably the only reason it went over 300 was because it skipped off the top of the basket. Hole is 297, and the disc was about 15 feet past the hole. So I figure if it was at the top of the basket and still had some 6 feet to fall it was probably over 300, lol.

on flat ground ive gotten 400+ maby 3 times this summer, my throwign style got messed up the last time i palyed and i cant throw 325 with aim anymore, i think its because i started meathooking my flick,

i hope people dont count throwing off a mountian or anything lol

I've had a few fluke long D. throws.

Out of the clear blue, on a very slight uphill, I threw a Sidewinder with a hyzer flip about 20' past the basket on a 395' hole. (Haven't been close since. LOL)

The first time I ever threw my Boss was from a slight elevated tee on the 360' hole. I found the disc 40' past the hole, struck in a tree about 5' off the ground. (Haven't been close since. LOL)

Another time, I was out field practicing. I was practicing my noodle backhand as I am mainly a forehand thrower. I was spraying discs everywhere out to about 250'. I grab my Roadrunner and POOF!!!, crank one out perfectly straight, over 400'. (Haven't been close since. LOL)

Sometimes the Disc Golf Gods are cruel. They give you a taste of what is possible, and then, snatch it away. Never to be seen again.

It's kind of interesting that no one has voted for the 350'-400' range, do people usually skip from 340' to 410' or something?

actually in my case it only took about a month from hitting 260' to hitting 350' when I made some form discoveries that greatly improved my D. Before that my highest was about 330-340, and now my high outliers are in the 400' range.

I threw 315 at my practice field (marked off with cones) and I was 10ft from the basket on a 320ft hole. Those are my two best that I know of.

Actually, that's not that surprising to me. Once you get to where you're throwing fairway drivers 330'-350', which is a common plateau, you'll find you can pop the occasional 400'+ throw with a distance driver.

I have had a couple get close to 350' and was thrilled as I didnt even get close to 300' more than about 30% of the time. Now, I am hitting around 300' consistantly with a Teebird on a 10' straight line shot, about 60% of the time when I want it. Going to head out this next weekend to a much more open course hoping to see what I can push.

TBH though, I am not sure if I want more distance if I am going to sacrifice control, both in me really cranking on it and on using the "distance" drivers but I have that Katana in my bag that I am itching to throw.

Need to get that out of my system then focus on the short game. That is where I can really cut down the strokes.

Yeah, I can throw 350' pretty consistently, and I've had a couple where I got more things right than usual and got out to about 400-425', it's pretty rare though.

I broke 400 hundred bout 2 weeks ago with a Katana and thought it was the disc and then went out and threw 414 with my max weight star Boss. I recently video taped myself and changed my form and I think that has been the biggest help for my distance.

330-360 on a good day

300 consistantly

may have broken 400 once but i got a good skip and it ended slightly downhill (so doesnt count as 400)

Weve got a park with a nearly 700 foot hole going downhill here, I threw probly 400-425 on that hole last week, but I realize thats way different than 400-425 on flat ground. My average throw on flat ground is probly 300-350 on an average day, once in a while im feeling good and can get into the 350-400 feet range.

Lets hear from the 2 500+ guys. lol

Longest is probably 450-470. Can't do it anywhere even close to consistent though.

Playing hole 7 at Youth Park last week which is 310. The wind caught my 175 dx destroyer on the underside and it just kept going and going to the right and never came back. It landed near hole 15 toward the corner of the park. Google earth says it is around 425 as best I can tell it. Total fluke. The best I have done accurately is around 390.

I'd love to see a couple of guys who can throw over 500' throw in an open field for an hour. I'd really like to see the difference between them and the average DGer.
