[Putters] Is there an Aviar-ish putter that feels like a Buzzz?

I tried the Pure out for this exact reason. I found the Pure to be more understable tho at higher speeds than I wanted .

If I could describe a Putter that flew like a buzzz and had a slimmer profile, hands down ATOM. MVP Atom. I tested it with the Pure....and i realllllly wanted the opto pure to be it, tho close. The Atom just holds that laser straight line so well.

There is NOTHING wrong with putting with a Pro D buzzz. Many...many people will give you a look or tell you otherwise but there is nothing wrong with it. You will score the same as you would with a "putter". Just let their preconceived notions bounce off of you, and hopefully you'll make more putts than them as icing on the cake.
Yeah, I often frustration-putt a Buzzz and/or Truth after missing with the Aviar, and one of my mids often gets thrown on longer putts. I think I'd like a slightly slower disc for regular putting, thought.

Since the Buzzz is a large diameter mid, you needs you a large diameter putter. Get something cool like an Innova Aero or Discraft Zeppelin!
Hmmm, I was thinking more in terms of depth/height than diameter. I might have to think about that. I do like the sound of the Aero.

I've putted w a Shark a number of times and it felt pretty good :) Not exactly the same feel but similar sort of mid

The atom feels to me like what you are describing wanting.

It's like a lower profile Aviar and has a higher buzzzish shoulder. I love mine.

I've ordered a Pure. Should get here in 2–5 days, and I can't wait to try it.

I did consider the Atom, but there was something about its specs or description that made me think it's not what I want. I've read so much about so many discs in the past few days that I don't remember what it was anymore. But if the Pure doesn't work out I'll take another look at the Atom.

I appreciate the info, everybody. Thanks!

I've concluded that, while I like its flight characteristics, the good ol' DX Aviar I've been putting with just doesn't feel right in my hand. It's too tall, like I'm pinching it between my fingertips instead of holding it in my hand. My Buzzz feels PERFECT. So is there a putter with flight characteristics similar to the Aviar's that'll feel like a Buzzz in my hand? It doesn't have to fly exactly like an Aviar as long as the stability is about the same. I wouldn't mind a tiny bit more glide.

If it makes a difference, I push putt inside the circle, and outside the circle I do a spin putt that's actually just a desperate fling.

I'm really surprised nobody suggested the Dart. You can try the XD and Dart (which are kind of the same) - I used to have the same issue years ago and the first run R-Pro Dart was perfect. The XD will have a bit more turn though. Dart would have some more glide on the Pure, but it's easier to get a "good" Pure than it is to get a "good" Dart according to most people. :|

You can also finally get the Dart in almost all of Innova's plastics. For a long time it was just R-Pro (the first run are flat topped) whereas the early Star had a dome to them. I think that dome issue might have pushed people away.

I play with a guy that putts with a heavy Buzzz and he just nails it all the time... I would have said a 165 Soft Envy.. but enjoy the Pure also a great choice.

My grip line Pure has much better high speed stability than any of my BT mediums. I would probably grab an Opto next, but I may pick up more GStar Aviars instead. I'm putting so much better with those than I ever did with Swans and they are just as reliable on upshots as the Pures have been for me. That and I may as well develop better touch with a single disc. I think I just talked myself in to more Aviars...

Concerning the Pure... the feel of the Aviar or the flight more important to you OP because a Pure isn't going to fly like an Aviar. Def feels like a Buzzz but it was too fast for me.

So I got myself a Pure from KW's website a couple months ago. (Decent price and very quick shipping; thanks, KW!) I definitely like it better than the Aviar, and I've gotten fairly comfortable with it.

HOWEVER—

Sorta by accident my old Banger GT recently ended up in my bag. It was my first putter, given to me by the friend who introduced me to disc golf, but it never worked for me. It seemed to have waaaaay too much fade, which in retrospect was almost certainly due to my total cluelessness about putting form. Now I've started using it for upshots and longer putts, and I really, really like it. It just might take the place of the Pure.
