Clearwater Disc Golf Closed??

I hope not, I plan to be in Clearwater next week to play Cliff Stephens & I wanted to pick up a D Zone and Retro Pure.

My first thought was to go to website for ph# and call. Website is down. However, the website was crap. Maybe website makeover?

What makes you ask if they have closed, did you go by & they were closed?

I went to Shops tab here on DGCR & got this ph# (727)725-2654. I called & no answer, no VM with store hours.

Will try again later.

I called again & they are there. Open till 6:00pm tonight

Their website is straight out of the 90s. Maybe it's getting modernized.

One of our locals was down there a couple weeks ago and he reported the owners were splitting up and some chaos was occurring due to that.

This. There has been some drama going on in store. I do not know any information other then what I see from the local FL club pages on FB. The store seemingly is staying open, but it has affected hours. We shall see but hopefully the store stays open through whatever transition they are going through.

I was there Sunday. It is open.

You know the discounts on all the disc divider signs? Well they dont offer that discount anymore. I walked up to the counter with like 15 discs expecting to get a discount and got nothing. Can confirm the owner change. Clerk said new owner isnt doing the discount anymore. The discs are kinda overpriced as it is, the discount made it more in line with other merchants. I'm done shopping there...

It was pretty bad. The GGGT and MST aren't perfect, but I've actually bought and been pleased with both of them. The Clearwater one wasn't even hardly transactable.

A post during smashboxx tonight Paul Roberts-"Clearwater disc golf store site is down, we aren't opening the store in morning. Joe isn't being civil in his divorce with Wendy. Wendy has a new company and we will bring the inventory back soon."

The trick to ordering from Clearwater was calling the shop. Talk to Wendy, tell her what you were looking for and she'd go right to the rack and pull it aside for you. Place your order and in the notes say Wendy had it set aside.

I used them a lot for finding exact backups.

You just went full on hipster.

I disagree. There were competitors with more functional websites where I could choose weight and colour. I'm not calling a shop (I live in Canada) to sort out details like that when I can get exactly what I want from another source for the same, if not better price.

These companies decided to operate poorly functioning websites. Therefore they lost my business.
