Things noobs say...

Not gonna lie like 6 years ago, I slayed in intermediate doing almost exactly exactly that... then I actually learned to play this game.

ive been out driven by a noob throwing a nuke os on a torqued out flex

i also saw someone shoot close to my score throwing an epic and putting with an dx aviar it was on an open course tho

I like it when you play a round with someone and just slay it with a putter or a mid obviously at a higher skill level and they tell you something ridiculous like you should try a Boss for this 200' shot or have you tried this Xcal I use it for everything.

That being said I miss throwing my first run ESP forces..

Ive only ever played with one guy who threw an epic.. He could get pretty crazy distance but control? Not so much..

this person had it dialed in

most holes at the course were open and 200-350 ft and no tunnel/ceiling shots

I carry a couple Factory Second's in my bag (they're cheaper, which is nice). Every once in a while someone asks me what that is and sees the "F2" on the front, and I'm not sure if they're confusing it with a Prodigy F2, but are convinced that they've thrown that same model before. Despite the fact that I can pull two different "model" F2's out of my bag and they still think it's the mold.

"Oh is that an F2? I used to throw those."
"Actually it stands for Factory Second, it's an Innova thing where they sell cheaper discs that may have blemishes"
"I just didn't like my F2"
"Well they're all different molds, so..."
"It was too flippy."

He didn't actually SAY anything, but I played with a guy who has been playing at least 3-4 years and competes pretty decent in masters.

Any shot that is more than 25 feet and less than 70 he is throwing this Zypher and laying up. To be fair on all but one he left himself an easy drop in, but if he had tried to putt on many of these he might have saved 3-4 strokes.

Or maybe not. Running the pin and going 20 feet by might be the chance for this guy to add 3-4 strokes on missed comebacks.

My Brother in law: "I can tell I've added some power because I'm starting to overpower this Avenger SS"

His max drive is 250 tops, and the Avenger SS in question was Pro D plastic...

I throw Roadrunners and someone always says something about how they are only for rollers.

On the more OS Firebird note, there used to be a guy around here who said his Max was getting too flippy.

I've played with people that literally had flippy max's. Good players. Throw flat and they fly like a beat teebird, I refused to believe it until I looked at the disc.

I have a really old and gummy star max that is like this, flips up to flat from a hyzer and rides 300ish ft on a rope before a nice gentle fade. I have thrown some of the longest forehand rollers of my life with it.

That reminds me of one of the first times I found a disc on the course.

Texted my buddy a photo, holding up my new DISCRAFT ESP. I was so proud.

I've not seen one that understable, but the Slabs I have(Max mutant sibling) one is unrelentingly Overstable and I have to torque it so hard to get 400 out of it, but the metal flake one of thrown hard and more flat goes 425+ no problem.

This was the second disc I ever bought and got used so much back when I was a one disc FH chucker that it is almost gstar in consistency. An overstable disc that has been beat to death really is a thing of beauty. I bet someone with your FH could drop a 600ft sidearm roller with it; has become my favorite trick shot disc and replaces my firebirds during the winter when champ gets stiff and brittle.

Worst thing I heard a newer player say was, that all Discraft is garbage. I asked had you ever even touched a Discraft disc or seen them in person. Nope he said I just know to stay away from them. He had a bag full of Dynamic Disc, discs that most were just Discraft or DGA clones or near clones of the same disc, not surprising since the founder of Dynamic Discs was once a pro player sponsored by Discraft.

Blizzard Boss off every tee.

"Yeah...bought it because of the world record distance stamp..."

Totally aware that that's ridiculous but also not aware he already has the form to be throwing his mid better and straighter in most situations.

I thought that Eric McCabe was sponsored by Discraft? Is he not the owner of Dynamic Discs?

Nah, he's often the face and is an employee. Could be a minority owner, but Jeremy Ruscoe is the man in charge.

I threw my beat pfn Xcaliber 380' FH in yesterday evening's mini. I should really have no business throwing an Xcal but I have a pretty decent FH and this disc definitely gives me better distance than anything else I've thrown. I actually pulled 2 more new X-out patent # Xcals out of some tourney prize winnings, not sure if I'll beat those in enough to be useful to me before I get too old to throw them.
