[Gateway] Gateway Wizard

This latest run of PWP Wizards are no joke. I just got in a few from the black Friday sale, and instantly ordered more. I have been putting exclusively with Fossil Fuel Wizards for about a year now. They might even be a tick firmer then FF with great grip. Super flat but with a slight shoulder. The Fossil Fuels are pretty freaking flat with very slight or no shoulder. The new PWP are flat just has a slight shoulder. Either way this latest run feels great and is the first run I have bought a stack of since fossil or fossil fuel.

Sweet! I have a 5 pack on the way. Can't wait to give them bad boys a try!

I just picked up a pair as well. I will probably save them for a rainy day. Keep up the good work Gateway!

Are they similar to the early pwp?

Firmer, pretty white this go around as well not yellow ish. I am not sure I have felt every run of PWP they have done, but I have a few. Most of the older runs were Def a little softer not as firm. This is definitely my favorite run of pwp yet.

Care to give out anything about the plastic or how they molded up?

Always looking for good stable to OS driving Wizards, but I donno about premi plastics with my putters.

Well done spoof nonetheless.

Welch is right, this new batch of PWP is fantastic. The stiffness compares very favorably with my grey Fossil Fuels, which as I understand were one of the stiffest runs. Low shouldered and flat. I got a 175 and 174. They are not identical feel to the fossils, and I am not familiar enough with the disc making process to describe the difference, but I would put them squarely in the same craft category. Gritty, old school style plastic. More like KC Pro, less velvety feel like a Soft would have. Although they are stamped Pure White Wizard, mine are still marked PWP.

I just got my batch of pwp's, and I'm really loving the feel of these! Stiff, and grippy. I can't wait to field test them tomorrow and see how they fly. Much love for Gateway and their putters!

I actually got a mix of markings on mine. Half were marked PW half PWP on bottom. All with the pure white wizard stamp like yours.

My family of PW Wizards...

And to follow up on my previous light blue wiz question. How long ago were these run? I'd like to find more of them in the 173-175 range if possible.

Talked with Gateway on facebook and they were able to find me 2 firm black organic wizards. Received them yesterday and they are perfect. Super firm with the slight grip in the cold that I like. They also have a high shoulder which I prefer to the lower profile wizards that feel like judges.

What's the difference between the new pwp and softs?

I have some of the pwp from the horrendous run that turn brown and seem to disintegrate over time (I actually bought five before I knew :( ). My only early pwp is very stiff and a bit slick. I don't really have a great use for it.

These are stiffer than Softs and with less grip. I think of PWP and Fossil as the spiritual successors to Medium. I plan on using mine for putting.

The fossil I have has pretty decent grip (maybe not as good as ss, but as good as most softs). Where as all the mediums I have felt were slick. Is this the norm, or just that I don't have enough experience with fossil or medium?

My buddy has a stack of like 18 black organic wizards

I just mean that in general as you go up the line from rff to soft, grip decreases and stiffness increases. For me PWP/Fossil are at the top of the list. Not that I'm saying PWP/Fossil doesn't have fantastic grip, I appreciate that it doesn't have the velvety feel of Softs. Every stiff Wizard I've had was relatively slick off the shelf. But in my experience that disappears after a couple rounds or some putting practice.

Good to know. I like the Fossil, but did not want to buy any Pwp's if they were slick like the G9i I have felt( I said Mediums earlier, but I meant G9's)

G9i are the slickest/stiffest wizards I've ever felt. Like dinner plates. Ive never beat one in, and the one that I had chipped on me.

Just speculation, but I think PWP was inspired by RDG/Fossil. They same like awful similar plastics.
