[Question] If your bag was lost, what would you buy to play a tourney?

So you fly in for a tourney and your bag ends up in Timbuktu.. You only have enough cash for 8 discs and your entry fee because the disc seller doesn't take cards.

What would you buy to replace your worn favourites? Would you drop a few grams? Switch to a different mold that throws a little easier? Stack your bag differently?

Ohm
Zflx Zone
Z Comet 175g+
S-FD/Dark Rebel
C-PD/Phantom Sword
Fission Wave mid 160's
Grace
Star Glow Wraith

That should work.

Depends on what is available at the local shop. If they carry every brand and every mold.....

Legacy Clutch
DGA Breaker
Innova Mako3
Innova Teebird
Innova Sidewinder

Whoops, I forgot the Kastaplast Falk, Lat64 River, and NSHCusomdiscs Dwayne.

You see the ohm is what got me thinking bout it.. My standard worn staples are my plasma envy that I would probably replace with an ohm. My soft electron 174 I'd probably replace with a fresh 170. My comet I'd probably go big Z, but I might complement with Svea or an uplink. I'd almost be tempted to get 3 envy, vary the weights and hope one putts decent. Or 3 tesla for that matter.

Neutron Ohm for the straight/stable (plaz envy/comet)
170 electron soft envy
169 hex (also replacing the beat plaz envy)
Big Z Comet (for that beat in flight)

Relay
Insanity(lightest neutron I could find)
155 fission tesla (see how beefy it is)
165 fission tesla (so I don't have to play the "volt plh game"

Well, obviously if I wasn't limited to what they had to offer then I would buy the same makes and models that I bagged. I don't rely on seasoned discs and mostly keep fresh discs in the bag anyways so that if I need a replacement then something off the shelf slots right in.

I'm going to go with discs that have been in stock recently:
Warden (any classic)
Envy (any electron)
Justice (Lucid)
MD3 (C-Line)
Origin (NEO)
Instinct (NEO)
Getaway (Fuzion)
Felon (Fuzion)
Trespass (Fuzion)

All I'd REaLLY need is an Envy, Instinct and a Trespass.

Protege Clutch
K3 Berg
ESP Comet
soft ESP or firm FLX Drone (a la the 08' World's ones I throw)
Gstar Teebird (flies like a worn Champ out of the box)
Star Valkyrie
Champ Xcal

Ummm...maybe a Roadrunner? Buzzz? Cannon? 8th disc is course dependant.

DX Classic Aviar
KC Pro Roc
DX Valkyrie
DX Firebird

I get four more? Sheesh.

The Aviar will be fresh, so a Z Sol for low-speed understable stuff?
The Valk will be fresh, so a light DX Leopard?
The Roc will be fresh, so maybe a 172-174g Z Comet?

Maybe a KC Pro Aviar? Maybe a backup Valkyrie in case I taco the first one?

Eight discs is a lot, man. :|

Plasma Nomad

Soft Electron Envy

Soft Electron Proxy

Neutron Hex

Eclipse Reactor

Neutron Crave

That's what I was thinking as far as NEEDS go. I'd probably only throw half the molds I mentioned 1-3 times in two rounds.

Give me a Clutch, Comet, and Drone and I'm golden!

Exactly.. You're picking up some discs that you don't know, getting a fresh one to its happy place takes time.

Good post! :)

This was really challenging and fun. The following are all max weight.

Innova XT Invader - Neutral Putter
Innova Star Raven - Mildly OS Mid/FW
Innova Star Caiman - Very OS Mid
Innova DX Leopard3 - US FW
Innova Champion Beast OR Innova GStar Thunderbird - Neutral Control Driver
Innova Champion Firebird - Very OS Control Driver
Innova GStar Shryke - US Distance Driver
Innova Star Destroyer - OS Distance Driver

In a full tournament loadout I normally have 20 slots in my bag (very OS/OS/Neutral/US putter/mid/fw/control/distance) plus maybe 1-3 unique discs I might just carry for a certain challenge on that course.

I decided I'd go with one putter for both putting and throwing most of my putter shots, I would've liked a very OS complement, but I can easily get away with the Caiman for that. Then I started by alternating US/OS pairing and Very OS/Neutral pairing for each speed category and then I found a disc that I think fits fairly well between two of my chosen discs and slotted it in instead of them to get it down from 9 to 8. For that I picked the Star Raven to replace a Champ Gazelle and S-Blend Chariot.

Plastic and disc choices weren't that much different from my normal bag since I mostly throw premium plastic and have only had a handful of discs for long enough for that to start showing serious wear. I'd also buy some sandpaper to sand down any flashing and knock the new off (or just use the concrete trick). Biggest plastic difference is probably DX Leo3 instead of I-Blend Centurion (basically Star/Pro Leo3).

I can think of maybe 2-3 holes on my 2 local 18 holers where I'd have issues, mostly depending on wind. And that's really just because my forehand isn't good enough.

I just checked. Apparently not only does the seller not take credit cards but apparently they don't stock Axiom/MVP.

Now what do you do?

I'd try out that berg maybe haha just go back 10yrs to my bag.

Ryhno x2 flat top champ or star 172g ish and an
R-pro as light as I can find.
Svea (or a lighter comet)
Comet 176 Z
Soft Falk lightweight maybe a 150 champ leopard
Star roadrunner 165-170g
Champ roadrunner 165ish or TL
Flat top FL 160ish, FB if FL is oop
