It is with great sadness that I must post on the passing of one of the all-time great guys in our sport, Tim Willis. Hall Of Famer and an early pioneer of our sport. He did great things for our sport in the state of Florida and beyond. Tim was one of the nicest people that I have ever met and one of the best humans on the planet. I am proud to have called him a friend and will miss him deeply. At only 66 it was way too soon. RIP.

Tim was one of the og's who convinced me to join the sky pilots when I was a teenager. He was probably the most sweaty and calmest Florida man. RIP Tim. He was so funny on league days when freedom was running it, the banter was top tier.

Never heard of him before this post, but damn, 66 is way too soon. I sure as hell like to think I have more than that coming to me, but...

Tomorrow is guaranteed to no one. ☹️

I too hadn't heard of Tim, but these early Pioneers of disc golf are still out there. We lost two of our early Pioneers of the Bayville Course 1977' Steady Ed design Virginia Beach over the winter. They were both pushing 80 and could only manage a handful of holes. One of them literally told me he'll keep playing until I'm dead. Theirs what I call the old timers bench at Bayville, four years ago there were a handful of original Bayville players found shooting the breeze, friendships back to the early years. Sadly Nobody is there this year, I'm glad I took the time to hear their stories when they were there. All about the course pointing out old pin positions and tees etc, and how they contributed. I can now pass it forward. I only know of two still with us from Bayville early years, maybe a few others that I haven't seen in a few years.

My suggestion if you cross the path of a Disc Golf Pioneer, hear their story. A few weeks ago I met and heard Paul's story designed an object freesbee course in Charlotte in the early 70's. Still throws a 1985 Worlds Disc, and two original Rocs. Remarkable to hear his contributions.
