the worst discs i bought at once were discrafts force and surge just to flippy not stable enough, needless to say those went into the used bin at the d mart. oh and cant forget the discraft stalker, crush, predator, and flash. cant wait for that nuke hope discraft finally makes a driver i can throw

How far do you throw and what do you throw?

So you can throw the TL ok, but turn over a force and surge? Interesting.

Sometimes I wonder on Discraft if their discs are as fast as they claim compared to Innova when looking at a 3rd party description. The ones I have had, always feel slower than I expect. I like certain ones ok though.

One time I bought a "H" Illusion because they were relatively new and Dave Mac was hyping them up on the PDGA boards as the fastest and longest disc out. It was flat and it just sucked. It started out quite overstable with no glide. I hit some trees with it as advised and it turned into a squirrely POS. I was trying to throw all Gateway at the time...I had been throwing Orcs over 400', but I couldn't get that Illusion to even fly 350' consistently. If I threw it low it would just drop out of the air, If I threw it high it would turn and then stall without going anywhere. It made it clear to me that going all Gateway at that time was a foolish.
So I'm not the only one that had that exact same experience with Illusions.

I would have said the Orc but that disc made a big turnaround for me and i actually use it quite a bit more now. So I would have to say the Star Max was the biggest waste of money for me so far its just a big gummy meathook.
All types of Maxs' stank and I hate em

I'll trade you an orc for a Max anyday.

I second this. I can't get this to fly consistent. I've given up on it, but I probably need to pay more attention to the wind or something...
I would say the beast makes a good first driver or if you beat one in good it makes an excellent roller. But there are much more consistent discs I would get for anhyzer shots (Valk, Avenger SS, Sidewinder) before I would get a beast for it. I had a Pro beast that I had beat into a great roller (till some a**hole ran off with it while I was getting another disc out of a tree)

any gateway/quest at garbage. except the wizard. the inferno was a terrible disc.
my other big regret is the #1 Roller...talk about a P.o.S.

people hate the groove because they don't have the arm for it yet.

My dad wanted to buy a katana for one of his first discs, I stopped him. You need to master the slower discs before buying what ever is new because it is new.

Totally agree man. SAme with the Boss or Destroyer. Don't buy 'em if you don't have the arm.

especially since you are going to run it into enough trees (etc) to make it flippy... so that when you do finally get an idea of what you are supposed to do, you've broken your discs.

"I dunno man, i love my destroyer... i've had it since day one, and now it's my best turnover disc..."
"What do you mean your firebird hooks badly? Mine flies pretty straight..."
