I played a round today at a local course (Bud Pell at Ross Farm) It's a newer course with hills, meadows, woods, and farmland...very scenic. There was not one other soul on the course. It's not like it was snowing or pouring down rain, it was 66 degrees and a beautiful spring-like day!
I know some folks don't like to play solo rounds, but to me,
it was amazing out there. I get plenty of rounds in with friends, and I prefer to play with people, but it's a pretty cool feeling to have a nice course all to yourself. Just you, the birds, and the game.
Anyone else had this experience?

I used to play at Idlewild around 8 am last summer while on second shift. Some days had some amazing fog and some very cool effects coming off the lake. It was always my type of mediation and solved I think 90% of the worlds problem out there last summer! :)

Played the North Georgia Canopy Tour course all alone about a month after it was installed. Awesome playing a mountainous course with nothing but silence all around you.

Ashleigh and I often start right around sunrise when we're on disc golf trips, that usually means we get the first course or two of the day all to ourselves.

I played Chattooga Belle Farms at dawn. I took a nude dip in the lake, since nobody was around.

b3nder and I played a colder round at Flip City (I know it's not "public" but it may as well be) and saw not a single person the entire round... very idyllic to have the whole course to yourselves.

I've played a *lot* of "seclusion" rounds on some of the country's best courses: Flip City, BB, Holler, et al.

Always a treat. It's the pinnacle of the dg experience if you ask me. Just you, perhaps a few select buddies, and the pristine nature vibe of a top-notch course.

Milo McIver 10 AM on a weekday, little wisps of fog in the sunlight, river rushing nearby.
Ann Morrison at 8 AM, barefoot in the lush dewy grass.

I play a lot of "off" hours and have had Waterworks in KC to myself MANY times as well as Swope and Cliff Drive. I also played Old Pike all alone early morning in the fresh snow.
Out of town, my Dad, Girlfriend and I had Ghost Town in Russel Gulch, CO to ourselves
I've been in the only group and often time the only person on Peter Pan and Jones parks in Emporia KS
My Dad, cousin and I played N GA Canopy tours with nobody on the course also.

A friend and I got to play 2 full rounds at All Terrain DG course in South Caroinaon Christmas eve. We had the entire beautiful mountain course all to ourselves.

I've played McCurry and Moseley many times without seeing anyone else out there.

I play my local course completely by myself a lot, I am usually there a little after sun up. I also got to play an entire round by myself at the new course in Noble, OK.... The tornado that had touched down in Noble scared everyone else away :D

Me and 3 other friends had East Roswell and JP Moseley completely to ourselves on a trip to play disc golf in Atlanta. It was very peaceful at Moseley that morning. It was a little cloudy and about 60 degrees but it was very nice. Made for a great day of golf.

Farragut state park in North Idaho is almost always deserted. It has three courses, one of them being an excellent gold course (AWOL/Double Black Diamond). Even if you go on a sunny weekend in the middle of summer, you might only see six to eight cars, ten max. On a weekday, it's pretty much just you and the deer.

My bro and I had Highbridge all to ourselves for five days in 2010, and there was no one on Idlewild last summer when I played it.

Also I was the only one in Mason County Park last time I was there...

I like taking trips and playing solo rounds, but some activity on the course is usually welcome.

I personally love my home course. I don't know if you would consider it top notch, but it is one of the tougher courses in the state, and I am usually the only one playing it. I think I saw 2 other disc golfers today, and 2 bikers. It is not unusual for me to be the only one there.

Idlewild? But i was there bro.

I took my buddy who is still new to the game out to Dexter a couple weeks ago when it had been raining all day and had the most fun I've had in a long time. There was only one other car in the parking lot so we had all the time in the world for me to clean up his form, throw lines I've never tried, and enjoy some Ninkasi 22s.

It was a lot of fun watching him take some big strides in his game and get really excited about it, and it reinforced some fundamentals in my mind. It took him till hole 14, but he got his first par. If the course was busy as normal I would've been worried about keeping up our speed of play the whole time. But with the place to ourselves it became a really fun round and I got to see another friend get hooked on the game.

I've had plenty of rounds by myself...but the best was having the entire Highbridge Hills Sports Complex to myself (including the entire honka house) during my last spring break (probably just like deBebbler). We didn't see anyone else for 3 days and could do whatever we wanted.

It was so fantastic. I'll never forget it.

I play my home course every day almost, I'd say 25% of the time we're the only group out there, although I don't really know if flat rock is "top-notch" it is pretty kickass.

Although it may be private, nothing comes close to playing Flyboy and knowing you're the only group out there ;)
