How long did it take to get your 1st ACE?

How many years before you got your first ace?

Took me about 5 years for my first, and then a couple months for my second. So I guess it is like riding a bike..

If you're having ace problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but an ace aint one.

It really depends on the course. I you play courses with open, short holes, you will see more aces

I don't know. About two months? With a Boss on a short, blind hole that I should have used a mid-range or putter on. I've only come close one other time, so I guess mine was more dumb luck than anything else.

I have been playing about 18 months and got my first (and only) ace after about six months. For a pretty weak game, I have hit the chains/basket/post/etc. at least a half dozen times. I also have a "non ace" (firing a second disc after a crappy drive) that my buddies say I should count. Jamie

Just got my first ace this weekend! :-D I've playing for just over 2 years. But I guess it depends on how often you play - I average about a round a week - sometimes a 9-hole course, sometimes 18. A better stat would be how many holes did you throw before your first ace. According to my stat page, thats one ace in 1761 holes. :-( Not very encouraging. But I'm hoping I'm getting better so the next one will only be maybe 1000 away!

Actually, it was a short hole, only 156 feet, and the courses I usually play don't have any that short, so it could be sooner if I play shorter courses. I still get thrills out of birdies, so those are fine by me.

It's not really an ACE but during a State tourney in '93 there was a closest to the pin contest 5 throws for $5 for charity and the prize was a Mach III basket. It was about 180 feet to the pin and I hit the chains on my second throw and it stayed in the basket.

No one else hit it and I took home the basket. I still have it in my back yard and practice putting all the time.

I repainted it last week... You know, for kids....

4 years and waiting.... had one cubby ace, second shot on hole 10 at slaughter creek, with a z buzzz

I'd consider that more of a mulligan ace than a Cubby(assuming you play with/didn't use your mulligan). Still not the prestige of a normal ace, but I'm sure it felt good either way.

I have been playing for almost 4 years now and still haven't got one. I have came so close many times. Hit the basket, hit chains, and hit the top rim of t the pin.

It took about 8 months to get my first ace. Three years later I got my second and almost 5 more before my third.

I'm still chasing my first one. I get crap for it all the time. Even though I stomp all my buddies round after round, they get the last laugh because they all have multiple aces.

Anyway, here's a cool story to share along these lines:

I was an RA (Resident Assistant) in college. I was a disc golf noob, and decided I should organize a disc golf outing for my residents. There were about 12 of us that headed out, and only a few had ever played before. A resident of mine named Nick ended up acing hole #6... his 6th ever hole played! Granted it's only a 125' hole (blind downhill), but an ace nonetheless.

When I think of that story, and consider the 1,000's of holes I've played, bums me out. BUT THIS YEAR IS THE YEAR! I CAN FEEL IT! :D
