The Official Prodigy Website Security Thread

I just traded for a D1.

I also just walked to the dealer around the corner from me, she told me that Prodigy told them they need to order between 400-500 discs if they want any. This is a small store and I doubt they have 200 discs total in their store.

I wonder if Conner Jones could verify if this is true or not.

They might have meant $400-$500 in discs. Because there is a 25 disc minimum, 25 D1's and 25 D4's at $8 a piece is $400 dollars. I'd be shocked if they are requiring vendors to sign up for 400 disc orders.

I agree that doesn't sound right, your explanation makes more sense. She gets confused at times.

That is correct. I did ask for those disc on behalf of Sunshine Deaf DG Assoc (surprise to see that name as one of dealers in FL :) I was hoping for lower min order for smaller tournaments we will host, but we decided to wait to order for our bigger annual tournament in Aug.

I think their web page is good and it makes me think more highly of them as they appear that they are really working to make things right before putting them out there. I think there are a few companies out there doing this so it is not a unique thing.

I got lucky and scored a D1 and a D4 fr. Also got two factory second D4's for throwers. I have to say I am pretty impressed with the D4's. The flight is a lot like a Katana to me. The main thing that stands out so far is the way the inside rim is reverse rolled so you don't feel the flashing when it comes off of your fingers. I also think it holds up better in wind than the Katana does for me.

Got to go out and throw my D4 and D1 this weekend. My thoughts on the D4 are very similar. It was more stable than I expected. Very katana like with good distance. REALLY like the D1 though. Sneaky long for an OS driver. I haven't gotten to throw it in severe wind, but my guess is that its not quite xcal/force OS but it is more OS than most stock destroyers. I was also able to get an increase in distance on my forehand shots with it that I didn't expect.

reverse rolled? Can I see a pic of that?

I was going to take a photo myself when I was looking at them at my local brick and mortar store, but it wouldn't quite turn out in a snapshot. It's only about a millimeter of difference, if that, but the seam (I'm guessing the edge where two parts of the mold fit together) is moved slightly out onto the wing of the disc, away from where your grip creates the greatest friction on the release. It's subtle to look at, but it definitely makes a difference in the feel of the grip.

Also, I suppose different places will sell the discs for different prices, but my local brick and mortar had them marked at $18. Websites may add a little for shipping, but there doesn't seem any good reason to pay $25+ per disc for these, unless demand really is that high come February.

I was expecting the d1to be more overstable, flew like a destroyer to me. Plastic felt great, real grippy.
