Do you hide your new disc purchases from your wife?

So I thought it was funny that I wrapped up my new star Eagle in a sweatshirt when I came home in an attempt to get it to my disc bag unnoticed.

No I don't have a problem.

20 min. conversation about why I do/don't need G* Teebirds... or hide it and keep my mouth shut? I think you know the answer, lol.

It's easy. If she buys books or similar stuff I buy discs. Works great to limit her shopping...

I buy what I want.
She has the checkbook and pays bills.
Once in a while, I might get the "we're getting low on extra cash" comments.
Which is "chick code" for another disc?

Hide? No. But I don't advertise either. ;)

Honestly, my wife doesn't care about my disc golf purchases. Compared to fly rods, they are a bargain :D

My girlfriend complains about it, but I tell her that I make my money and I pay the bills first, whatever is left I can do what I choose with it. I think she is upset that she doesnt have a ring yet :p

Exactly. Change fly rods to $500 catch gloves and $150 hockey sticks and I'm right there with you. It also helps that I only buy discs occasionally, and only one or two at a time. Now, if she ever realizes I don't throw half of what I've bought there might be a problem, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

We worked a system out. We each have "x" amount of free money to do what we please with each month. She has long gotten used to the steady stream of discs that come in the mail. She compares my excitement over hers for cookware and generally supports my habit (within reason).

Nope, I'm a man......

I second this ^^^^^^ I see no reason to lie about it, or sneak around like I'm doing something wrong. I still have my own bank account for that reason, so I can do what I want.

I would never do such a thing. And even if I wanted to, I can't. She always gets the mail before I do. (I always buy online)

dont have one.

sorry, a wife nor any purchases:D

now i'll go back to doing what i want whenever i want.:thmbup::thmbup:

She understands its my passion, and she spends money on hers.

Why hide it? You gotta be happy in everything you do and are. If you are hiding it, then when are you going to be happy?

Your not lying, good fishing tackle is some pricey stuff. DG is relatively inexpensive compared to my other hobbies; fishing, shooting, ball golf, paddling....
