I don't go to Fort Worth often and now that it is cooling down some, I'm thinking about taking a day trip. I want to play the last two decent/good courses in the metroplex, Weatherford & Greenbrier. If I can get the wife to go along with the idea, I'm thinking about knocking out most of the other courses I haven't played. I'm here, asking for help with my itinerary. I've got drive times off google maps but I'm not sue about how long each course would take to play. I'm also depending on the drive time giving us recovery time so we don't get beat down half way through the day. I'm guessing it will take 3 people 45 minutes to play the 9 hole courses blind.
Leave home in Plano to arrive at WO Harrington around sunrise 7:00. 45 min round
30 min to Tommy & Sue Brown 6 hole course 8:15. 30 min round
20 min to Haslet 9:15. 45 min round
25 min to Willow Creek 10:25 45 min round
10 min to Eagle 7 hole 11:20 40 min round
40 min to Weatherford 12:40. 2 hour round
30 min to Greenbrier 3:20 2 hour round.
This leaves me done and ready for the hour drive home by 5:30.
This adds up to over 4 hours of driving and 76 holes of golf.
Questions:
Do my round times work?
Drive times close enough for Saturday traffic?
Good place for lunch & a beer on my rout?
What courses aren't mowed? I'm not planning on looking for a disc for 20 minutes.
Which courses aren't cart friendly?
Any thoughts, suggestions? I realize these courses aren't the greatest, I'm ok with that as long as they are playable. I'm shooting for this weekend but that probably will not happen.
