[Question] Upshots - Who throws their putting putters?

Putting putters: (only used for actual putts or putter layups)
2x 175 KC Aviars
Throwing Putters: (Off the tee and most upshots)
2x 175 KC Aviars - One really beat and one that flies pretty straight with predictable fade
175 XG Champ Glow Rhyno - Like premium plastic on this one so it keeps the flight characteristics for a long time.

I'm with you OP, I carry six putters. My upshots are with a Liquid Touch, an Armor Scale, a Neutron Envy or a Tiger Line Claws, depending on the approach. I never use my two putting Touches for upshots.

I don't approach with my putting putters. They are used for putting only.

I rarely use my Wizards for upshots, and if I do I'm trying to give it a chance to go in.
Otherwise, I use Honey/Envy/Proxy. I get cleaner releases off the tee and on my upshots with the low profile discs, and the premium plastic on the Envy/Proxy means they won't feel lumpy on my next throw. /cough/like Wizards/cough.

Since I discovered the magic that is the Ion, I look at it in a different way. To me, the Ion is my go to upshot disc inside of two hundred that happens to also be a great putter. I don't know if it's the overmold or what but the Ion has turned out to be an incredibly durable disc. It changed at first, but it's flown the same for me for the last year. It's comfortable in my hand so I just walk up to where my Ion landed, mark it, and throw it again. I don't see much if any damage from banging chains. Love my durable Ion.
No my putter drives always miss the trees.:|
But really, with KC or especially DX putters they tend to warp and bend when hitting trees at full power.
That can change the consistency of my putting if my putter is warped and wobbly.
Not the case with premium plastic putters as much obviously.
I bag 2 putter molds: wizards and scales (which are a wizard varient). Im throwing one or the other on about 95% of my shots inside of 250 ft. I have designated throwing wizards and putting wizards. I will use my throwing wizards in putting practice but never a round. I can't stand when a putting putter gets a bad nick, scratch, burr, ect. baseline or midgrade plastic for both. Ive always hated the feel and lack of glide from premium plastic putters.
I used to have different molds for putting and throwing (judge/wizard) but wizards absolutely annihilated the judge for putting. I knew this quite some time ago but was only recently able to commit to the switch

I do drive with my putting putters but only if I need the US flight. 95% of drives and approaches are done with dx discs that im working into putting stability. I did carry a bookend champ driving putter but have been all base for a while. (Dx rhyno-cycle)

I putt with wizards and use evos off the tee and have been experimenting with a PA1 as a more OS putter also. I throw those as often as i can when around 275 and in. I use erasers to putt and use erasrer wizards for my upshots also. Plus i break out a zephyr whenever I can also. Great glide and go dead nuts straight.

-you lost me aim. But anyhow I do have a bookend- Panzer. never gets putted feels like rhino in hand... So as to the op's question- once a disc is in the "zone" I try not to use it unless I need to. (puttingputters)
I use novas... Baseline plastic is so 1991. And I use em for driving, putting, upshots. I have four that I'll carry in wet weather to cycle so they dry a bit.
But for my first year and halfish I used wizards. Mostly evos with firmer soft and super soft. I would keep usually two as putting putters. But after awhile I realized it doesn't really matter because the top of a disc catcher cuts chunks. And those chunks missing hardly do anything. I didn't even know what a beat wizard was until I bought a five stack of used wizards that had been each well well used. The most beat one I played with for like three then it was finally truly flippy

If its a pretty routine approach (i.e. no considerable distance, obstacles or wind), yeah, I'll do it, but probably for no other reason than said putter sits in the putter pocket and its the easiest one to reach for.
