[Putters] Glideless Comet in putter form?

Keep working the serpent in.
One of the only putters I've thrown that doesn't pick up a ton of glide as it wears in.

My go to Serpent is beaut up and can be bent in any direction of flight. I still.can trust it for placement shots however bc it doesn't glide out of lines.

In my bag I carry two placement driving putters: Scale & Serpent
And two distance driving putters: Envy & Proxy

I have that too basically
Serpent Scale for shorter range and approaches
Pa4 Pa3 for longer

Oh, noteworthy, my Serpent is Fossil Fuel. I'm sure Jamie can shed more light on the difference in wear and flight dynamics, but it seems to be holding up just as well as all my other standard Fossil discs.

SERPENT . Also, Berg and Scale for more Overstable.

Honestly, Serpent rules. its what youre looking for

I always forget the berg. That thing needs to be thrown pretty hard, but won't turn over. Very little fade for how high speed stable. Easy to judge range after you find out it will always fall 20-50' shorter than other putters.

Did some more testing in the back yard in the 150' range and so far its looking like the serpent is what I want. Might need to get one in different plastic though as I love fossil for putting and driving but I prefer something a little softer for touch shots.

VIP Shield. Melon Proxy (only proton version available - probably the straightest disc I've ever thrown) or if you REALLY want to go outside the box, try a Powerline Gumbputt. All it does is go straight for 150-200 then flop to the ground like a soggy pancake!

I love my Fossil Fuel Serp, but I'm curious on the Chalk RFF... I like the RFF Wiz that I have, but I'm not sure on RDG molds... If you end up getting one, be sure to let us know what you think.

Anything that lacks glide is going to be overstable in some way. That's just the nature of the flight mechanics.

Anyway, I really think that a soft judge is closest to a Comet's flight in a putter. It's got decent glide and flies fairly straight at low speeds. The Magic would be a good recommendation too, but the shape of the disc might turn some people off.

I have two Chalky RFF Scales and honestly I like them better than Fossil on the scale. I use my scales 90% for upshots and I like softer & grippy plastic for that role.

Gonna scoop up a chalky RFF serpent to see how it does.

The proxy is flippy and low glide.

I'd have to throw it to get a feel for what you mean.

The definition we use for understable flight actually comes about because the disc is trying to lift itself in the air, but gets off axis due to a number of factors.

Proxy's NOT understable, not flippy. Dead straight HSS. And LSS for that matter. Proxy is a neutral as it gets. Oh, and the glide is fine. Not as much as the Anode or Ion, but it's a lower profile putter.

Not into the wind, mine flips. And compared to normal avg putters like a Aviar the glide is very low. It's a fast low profile high speed understable "putter". Not saying anything is wrong with it, it just is what it is.

This is coming from someone who throws everything and is unbiased as it gets.

Anyone reading this thread needs to ignore this. If you pick up a Proxy looking for a putter with marked HS turn, you will be disappointed...

I said HSS and into the wind. Maybe you misunderstood which would not be at all uncommon. :wall:

It out glides my SS Voodoos, and I've thrown both a ton together. Aviar not, but they're totally different animals.

I will say the original MVP putters (VP, Ridge, and Summit) have the least glide of any putters I have experienced (other than a 10M Brick)

Erm... MVP? MVP ain't no rubberhuckers. Filthy Vibram lovers trying to drag Maple Valley Plastics down. ;)
