Son of a veteran here, and as a young kid worrying about whether my dad was coming home or not, I'm going to disagree with you.
Not enough is done to protect, re-assimilate, and provide adequate healthcare for our veterans.
That's why I very controversially do not support the troops aka military nuthuggery, because there should be less veterans not more. If the government isn't going to support the troops by keeping them out of needless wars/conflicts and by sticking them into garbage VA hospitals and throwing them on the streets then I'm not going to encourage more people to sign up for exploitation. You guys can bro-hug each other to Toby Keith songs while the rich get richer off poor men fighting but leave me out of it. F*$& no, not today, thank you kindly. You are right, the vets that served in Iraq or elsewhere and have PTSD wind up being prescribed all kinds of pills that put them in a kind of haze as far as their perception. They are already come back different person from when they left and then with all the pills putting in their 2 cents, they wind up getting divorced and sometimes can't see their children because of anger issues or other side effects of PTSD. These are the ones that take their own lives because they have lost everything, including the person that they used to be. I recently saw a stat that said 20% of the soldiers with PTSD wind up committing suicide. Not enough is being done to decrease these numbers.

To any of our disc golfing vets on here, sincerely thank you for everything you've sacrificed for all of us.
gibberish...
so the OP who dropped this propaganda or more specifically this domestic, vertical, irrational, sociological, agitation propaganda upon this forum has averaged one post a day for the last 23.84 years. RIGHT.

I believe the dead horse has been beaten into submission. The pic is neither cool nor offensive. Thread should be closed.
Everyone railing against Bro D, you do realize that in his post he basically said that vets deserve more care when they get back.
His problem seems to lie in the fact that certain members of the government have no problem sending our troops off to war but not taking care of them once they are done with their service. Plenty of lip service is paid to supporting the troops, yet they don't follow through on that.
Instead of getting all up in arms, maybe take a step back first.

The original picture represents a hard fought victory thousands of soldiers died for. Even more were injured, and many died and their bodies were never recovered, so yeah it's definitely offensive.
I always thought that picture belonged to all US citizens. Maybe it belongs more to Marines than other US citizens? Is the disc golf meme showing Abraham Lincoln throwing a disc and yelling "Ace , Bitches!" as offensive? Or the one with the dwarf always coming up short? Or the one with Hitler, aiming a little "reicht"? etc, etc.
Based on an iconic image of the second flag-raising on the island of Iwo Jima during World War II, the US Marine Corps War Memorial is dedicated to "the Marine dead of all wars and their comrades of other services who fell fighting beside them."
...
During the summer, the US Marine Corps holds Sunset Parades at the memorial on Tuesday evenings.
