Have extra time off after a family trip ends. may 28th till April 4th and thought this would be the best chance for me to see and play in these countries.

My goal is to at least play in norway, Sweden, and Finland but possibly Estonia and Denmark also. Also would be cool to play a local league or tourney.

Done some random searching and have found courses but not much information.

Basically looking for advice, tips, and thoughts or possibly fellow disc golfers to join in this adventure.

If there are locals or people who have played in these countries before or who know where I can find more information would be much appreciated.

Hi,

If you have some flexibility in your schedule there will be a big tournament in Helsinki area around that time (22 - 28 may) https://tyyni.info/tournament-schedule/
Or you may have a typo in the dates since may 28 is after apr 4th :)

Anyway.. allmost all Finnish courses can be found from http://frisbeegolfradat.fi/radat/ Where are you planing on staying?
I live in Helsinki area and at least last summer weeklies were held mondays at Kivikko and on thursdays at Tali.

This map is also very useful for finding courses in Finland: http://frisbeegolfradat.fi/frisbeegolfradat-kartalla/
Blue basket icons are regular courses
Orange are private courses that may you may need to pay in order to play or you might need a permission of some sort.
Green indicate recently built courses.

As you can see there are quite a few courses here so recommendations really depend on which part of the country you're planning to visit.
There's a fairly cheap ferry connection between Stockholm and Turku (Stockholm-Helsinki is a bit more expensive and a bit longer) as well as between Helsinki and Tallinn so you could use those to move between the countries and have a look at some courses around Turku and Helsinki (the two cities are about a hundred miles apart).
Are you thinking about renting a car or going by public transportation?

As for other countries, my experiences are quite limited but I highly recommend playing Järva in Stockholm and if you decide to go to Copenhagen as well, Valby park is worth checking out.

With some quick googling I found these maps/sites for

Sweden: http://discgolfbanor.se/discgolf-courses-on-map/
Denmark: http://scorekeeper.ddgu.dk/courses/courses/
Norway: http://www.frisbeegolf.no/frisbeegolfbaner/
Estonia: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1jcxKH-I50c5s4i4lGjBK3xxsM8I&hl=en_US&ll=58.641658732774616%2C24.90509910000003&z=7

Yep messed up the dates lol may 28th through june 4th. I'm definitely disappointed that I'll miss the tyyni.

The difficult decision is staying in a couple of countries for a for a whole day or two or visiting multiple countries for a day or less.

My travel plan is to fly and mainly use public transportation
For sleeping Ive found some cheap hotels or bumping up to a single room at a hostel

Thanks for those links

Yep, it's a pretty limited time frame if you want to visit several countries so you'll have to make a tough decision. It's a good time to visit as the summer begins and days are pretty long so you'll be able play until pretty late in the evening :)

Any idea which part(s) of Finland you're planning to visit? Public transportation is pretty good but it won't take you to every course but that shouldn't be a big issue as there are many courses you can reach pretty easily. If you're around Helsinki I might be able show you around a bit. I don't have a car myself but some of my disc golf buddies do and I'm sure they'd love to show you a course or two, too

Let me know if there's something you'd like to know. I'll be be glad to help.

Depending on the time frame I decide on and depending on travel times I'm hoping to play some fun courses and maybe some sightseeing.

Need to do some more research on travel times to and from airports and possible courses etc etc.

hoping to stay in the public transport range.
If the time frame works out I will definitely take you up on that offer

In Estonia - https://www.discgolfirajad.ee/ use google translate - it is easy. In every part of the country You can find local league event almost every evening. I suggest Nõmme, because it is in Tallinn - we have weekleys on thursday 6pm - check Drive IN Disc Golf in FB.
